Call to Confession Liturgist: Kathy Wechter Friends, we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. The good news is that with God, grace abounds and forgiveness is real to all who confess. Let us confess our sins collectively and then personally.

We often desire control so much that we do not follow your way or seek your guidance in our lives. We let other people or our status, emotions, possessions or even our causes to get bigger than you and become our source

of meaning. Forgive us, and stir in us your amazing love that reminds us that we find meaning in You. We are lovable because we are created; we have hope because in you there is always a better way, another option, a way of love and peace. Help us to experience your peace that comes from letting you love us as your children.

Busby today to Celebration. Dr. Busby is honorably retired and joyfully serves the Second Presbyterian Church in Sumter. She has served on all levels of the PCUSA, having served twice as Moderator of the Presbytery of New Harmony. Dr. Busby is currently the Chair of the Committee on Ministry and the Chair of the Administrative Commission for Celebration. For rest and relaxation, Dr. Busby enjoys spending time with her family, including two sons: Sam (Anita) and Michael (Elizabeth) and five granddaughters, and many friends; reading, watching old black and white movies, listening to birds sing, listening to gospel and jazz music and traveling around the world.

PREPARATION FOR WORSHIP God of covenant, remind us again of your ever-present grace that is and was and always will be. At our baptism, we affirmed our adoption by grace into your holy family. Renew in us today the covenant of love that binds us with you and each other in our community of faith here and around the world. By water and word, fill us with your Spirit and fulfill in us your promise of new life, now and always. In the name of Christ we pray. Amen.
