Red Hat Ladies Lunch The Red Hat Ladies will be going to AhSo restaurant for lunch on Fri, May 13. They are meeting at AhSo, located at 1919 S. Gilbert Rd, Mesa (just south of Traders Joe’s in same shopping center), at 11:30 am. Please contact Marj Troute at 380-5488 to reserve your spot or for more information. All ladies are welcome to come! Circle 2 Luncheon Circle 2 will be meeting on Wed, May 18 for a 12:30 pm luncheon at Painted Mountain restaurant, 6302 E. McKellips. Everyone is welcome to come hear our speaker, Pastor Rula. Brain Health Seminar Book Order To all of the folks who came to the Brain Health SeminarThank you for coming! For anyone who is interested in the book of brain games that I referenced, it is entitled 399 Games, Puzzles, & Trivia Challenges Specially Designed to Keep Your Brain Young by Nancy Linde. It has an ISBN number of 978-0-7611-6825-6, and was published in 2012 by Workman Publishing in New York. If enough people are interested, I will order copies from Barnes & Noble, for about $10 each, which is a savings from the list price of $15.95. Please call the church office by May 31, and leave your name and phone number, and I will place the order on June 1. Pastor Chris Summer Shopping Trip to Queen Creek Join us on a fun shopping trip to Queen Creek on Sat, June 11. We will depart from the church parking lot at 10:00 am sharp. Our first stop is the Queen Creek Olive Mill. They have many uniquely-flavored oils and loads of other things for you to try. You will have an opportunity to eat lunch there. After that, we will go down the road to the Pork Shop. They have the most wonderful breakfast sausages, lunch meats, snack sticks, and chops/roasts. Reserve your seat on the bus for only $3.00! Contact Barbara Emri if you have any questions. Summer Baseball GameOnly 6 Tickets Left! Take me out to the ballgame! We’re off to see the AZ Diamondbacks take on the San Francisco Giants on Sat, July 2. This is a promotions game and you will receive a Paul Goldschmidt bobblehead doll! Our seats are in Section 110. We plan to leave the church parking lot at 5:15 pm to be on time for the 7:10 pm start of the game. Reservations and full payment are due ASAP. Women’s Weekend Retreat Planned in Prescott A retreat for women has been scheduled for September 23 - 25. We will be journeying to Chapel Rock Camp and Conference Center in Prescott where we will have our own large cabin/meeting room. The cost for this weekend is only $124.00 and this includes 2 nights of lodging, 5 meals, and service in the Rock Chapel (this breaks down to $62.00 a night - what a bargain!) THIS RETREAT IS NOT A UMW FUNCTION and is open to any and all women at Velda Rose. Feel free to invite family members and friends to join us.
