DESCRIBE proposed PROJECT (attach additional narrative, if necessary):The applicant is proposing to obtain a CUP for the establishment of a quarry on the subject property. The proposed projectInvolves developing 12.75 acres of the 69.6 acre mineral resource permit area Into a quarry. The quarry would be situated toallow a 30' buffer between it and the rock cliff-talus area along the west edge of the permit area. An adjoining portion of thepermit area will be used for staging of a rock crusher, stockpiling of material, truck circulation and weighing. The proposedquarry will disturb approximately 20-25 acres (approximately 15-19 percent of the entire parcel). A portion of this area iscurrently disturbed as part of the existing use of the property (cleared and graded areas). The proposed quarry will entail threegravel stockpiles (each approximately 1 acre), a staging and turnaround area, a scale, temporary crusher, and a topsoil stagingarea (approximately 0.25 acre). In addition to the quarry site, the existing access road will be Improved as part of the proposedproject. In order to minimize the overall impacts of the proposed project, the project will utilize a temporary crusher that will bebrought into the site 2-3 times per year to crush gravel. It Is anticipated that the proposed project will remove approximately500,000 cubic yards of gravel from the 12.75 acre area. This is anticipated to occur over a 10 year period.
