Prayer19th Century English writer John Ruskin wrote: The entire object of true education is to make people not merely to do the right thingsbut to enjoy them;not merely industrious;but to love industry;not merely learned;but to love knowledge;not merely pure;but to love purity;not merely just, but to hunger and thirst after justice.

PrayerWhat will they do next? The end of secondary school.Commencement.The beginning of the next stage. What will it be? Seniors preparing to graduate. It is time for them to decide. What will they do next? God who is present alwaysto love and comfort us through every ending,to love and to lead us into every beginning, you know their hearts and minds;you know their abilities and needs.Guide them in this time of transition.

Page 5: Prayer Welcome / Introductions Tonight’s program

PrayerSome are ready and eager to go on their way to further study, Some will enter the work force.Others will sign up for the Defence Forces. Some will be apprentices learning a skilled trade. Some have the luxury of a gap year.Others face the necessity of work to pay for tuition. Some know what they want to do and are ready to do it.Others don’t know and need time set aside to figure it out.

Page 6: Prayer Welcome / Introductions Tonight’s program

God who is present always,Guide these seniors, as they decide what to do next.Guide them through their ending of secondary school.

To have high but realistic expectations of their talents.Guide them into the beginning of their futures,Wherever and whatever they may be.Guide them in and through this time of transition.Amen.
