• If a chemical spills on your skin, notify the teacher and rinse with water for 15 minutes

• Only electrical plugs are to be placed into an electrical outlet
• Unplug electrical equipment after use
• Keep all electrical cords, wires, and appliances away from water

• Never point the end of a test tube being heated at yourself or others

Chemical Safety
• Transfer chemicals carefully!
• Keep lids on chemical containers when not in use
• When diluting an acid, pour the acid into water
• Consider all chemicals dangerous

• Read all labels twice before removing a chemical from the container
• Only use the type and amount of chemicalinstructed to use
• Never touch, taste, or smell a chemical

Using Volumetric glass wear1. Rinse with water and solution to be used
2. Fill to above graduation
3. Wipe off outside of pipette or burette
4. Drain to graduation( bottom of meniscus to top of graduation)
5. Touch tip to waste vessel
6. Transfer by gravity(vertical - don’t force)
7. Touch tip to inside of receiving flask
(clean pipette)
