More info:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy can be done individually or with a group of people. Clients can also use self-help book or computer program to help them evaluate their feelings and thoughts.
Effectiveness of CBT
• Evidence based therapy• Cognitive-behavioral therapists seek to acquire evidence to determine the accuracy of their theories and effectiveness of their techniques.
• Therapist ask questions to obtain a clear, accurate picture of the client's experience. Therapists also look for evidence in relation to their clients' thoughts, and encourage clients to base thinking on the FACTS (the evidence).
CBT is not a quick fix. A therapist is like a personal trainer that advises and encourages - but cannot 'do' it for you.
