WORDLE of the words/short phrases that teens used after the 2011 NCYC – which words do you see bigger than others? Those are the repeated
words – so Mazing, awesome, great, faith, inspiring and experience ruled!
Diocesan Shirt, Trading Items
For several years, DOY participants have had Hoodies to identify with the group
Trading items help break the ice and often identify what part of the world you come from…see the hats, necklaces, pins, stickers, etc.?
Opportunities to talk with and ask
questions of bishops – one on
one, a panel discussion and “roundtable”
chats
Breakfasts + Pizza
Continental breakfast items plus waffles help us start our NCYC days
Pizza, pop/soda and snacks help us wrap up our time together and allows time for sharing our experiences from NCYC!
“Tourists go on tour or vacation to see things. Pilgrims go
on pilgrimage not necessarily to see something, but to receive something, such as renewed spirit, greater devotion, or a closer relationship with God.”
“pilgrimage as a journey to draw closer to God ”
“pilgrims should be reminded that the most important thing they take with them on the pilgrimage is a sincere attitude of seeking God. They must be open to God's presence and activity in their lives, before, during and after the pilgrimage. The result of the pilgrimage will not be the amount of souvenirs brought home or the number of places visited, but the transformation that has taken place inside the person. ” http://old.usccb.org/laity/youth/tourpil.shtml
