The Breville JigSaw is a design for manufacture project which required the transformation of an Industrial Powertool to a domestic appliance. Keeping with the Breville form language, efficientand cost effective manufacturing processes, materials and tooling, I was able to design in such a way that there are absolutely no assembly screwsin sight.

The two sidecomponents come together to hold the technical package
The base then comes up, throught the first assembly and screws into the top component from underneath, hiding all the screw points neatly

This is a modular water harvesting system that is lightweight, easy to transport & assemble and to add to this, it is also environmentally sustainable (using recycled PP), promoting public transport and environmental strategies through its construction, use and materials.

The design is constructed around the 1050L MAXIPLAS MAXICUBE which acts as the sole support for the structure due to its rigidity and extruding profiles. The design is a basis for a modular system with the water tank acting as the anchor for the entire assembly. The manufacturing process allows you to create varying sizes and versatile designs to accompany different users (schools, shopping centres, ect)

One of the most challenging aspects of this design was to create a cost effective and easy to assemble unit with minimal components and maximum safety witout sacrificing the simplistic aesthetic and the usability factors of the design.
