RADIUS COMPETITIONLocation: 601 Dolorosa St. San Antonio, Texas
This competition is for all second year students. The objective was to design a twelve to sixteen story mix-use building. The initial process of the design was overlapping the stars and the path of the sun to creating a diagram. The later processes was to consider how light and shadow plays with the building and viewpoints for final design.

BREAKING DOWN ELEMENTS & TYPOLOGIES
Spaciality:Sometimes the greatest impact is by what can not be seen… what defined and shaped this girls experience at the 1964 World’s Fair was not the fair itself, but a film with a single message.
Detail:With people’s innovation and new technologies there will be more explorations to the unknown. Billy Graham used these images of newly discovered galaxies from the Hale Telescope to support and explain the beauty and wonders of god.
In this project we had to study, transcribe and draw the four elements that characterized the typology of church case study. There is a drawing for spaciality, aesthetics, ritual and detail.

The second phase for this project was study a local church in the city and study the characteristics of the church inorder to discover and define its typology. My partner, Tiffany Vargas, and I concluded that it was a mobile church.
Everything that the church owned would be stored in a trailer until it was time to set up for sunday worship.
![Page 22: Portfolio 2017-compressedA](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062503/58cfb0d61a28ab223a8b4aad/html5/thumbnails/22.jpg)
My partner and I proposed a new church typology for a local church we have been studying--“The Tabernacle of Tomorrow.”
The design that we proposed will give the church the ability to move to any enivornment while still providing the same amenities as a permanent structure.
The outer skin of the building reflects the city, but at the same time it is submerged in the wilderness. This shows that the essential element is the gathering of people, not its location.
