Port Stockton Sayings-Bulletin

The monthly bulletin of Port Stockton Branch 46 of Sons In Retirement,

a California non-profit corporation chartered July 23, 1974.

BIG SIR COMMENTS

SEPTEMBER 2014

Congratulations and best wishes to our

fellow SIRs who stepped forward and accepted

nominations to serve us on the Executive Board.

I’m sure you will wake up in the middle of the night

and wonder “what have I done to deserve this”.

Believe me things always look better in the

morning. I invite all the new officers to attend the

board meeting starting September 8th

. This will

help you adjust to your new duties and make for a

smooth transition in January. Also all members are

welcome to attend the Board meeting and make

presentations and comments.

There are still two positions open that we

need to fill on the Executive Board. They are

LITTLE SIR and SECRETARY. If you are

interested please give me a call at (209)948-2265 or

email [email protected]. You and I will be

happy that you did.

We have been evaluating a number of

locations for our monthly luncheons for the next

year. The Executive Board will make a decision at

the September 8th

meeting, and it will be announced

at the September 18th

luncheon.

Take note of the notice of the upcoming

ROMEO dinner by Ron Korock. Seating is limited,

the food is great, and the company is the best in

town. Make your reservations ASAP.

Thanks to Kelly Olds, Director of the San

Joaquin County Fair on the presentation on what’s

going on at the Fair Grounds. There is a lot more

than what I expected happening there.

Our September speaker is Capt. Scott

Meadors of the Stockton Police Department. I’m

sure his presentation will be of interest to everyone

who lives in the greater Stockton area.

In closing remember to look out for the kids

going back to school. Remember they are

someone’s grandkids, and they could be yours.

Be safe, take care and have a pleasant fall.

Big SIR, Pete Lepisto
