Popcorn ReviewBraden Pelischek
The Basics
Choose up to 5 or 6 students and have them sit in their desks, forming a strait line.
As the teacher, you give them a topic for the activity
One by one (In no particular order) they will stand up and elaborate on the topic
This is done until you feel like the students have a firm grip of the topic
The other students watch and listen for anything that they disagree with or find false.
History and Government
Topics- Any war, current event, historical events, leadership of countries, what you just had them read about…
Topic- WWII
Student A says Pearl Harbor
Student D says FDR declaring war
Student C says Hitler being in Power
Student B says August 6th, 1945 (dropping of atomic bomb)
English
Topics- Any books that you have read in class or assigned.
Would be really effective in this content area due to some people will remember different parts of a book.
Other examples could be key people in English.
Math
In many math cases, there are a process of steps you have to follow in order to get the correct answer
Have give each student a number and have them list the steps in chronological order.
Example X= -B +or- the square root of B2 times 4AC divided by 2A
Science/Physics
Go over the formulas one would need to know so they don’t set your classroom on fire.
If you are doing labs, go have the students say the sets in order (Kind of like the quadratic formula which we saw in math)
