Pontotoc City School District 2020-2021 Welcoming Back Our Warriors First Day of School - August 7 Overview The mission of Pontotoc City School District is to cultivate a spirit of pride, growth and service to prepare our students to flourish as leaders in our community and in the competitive world. This stands true, even in this uncharted territory we’ve embarked on. In the following pages, you will see the 2020-2021 re-entry plan for our Warriors. Re-entry teams made up of administrators, teachers, school resource officers, transportation directors, food service director, healthcare professionals, and school counselors at both the elementary and secondary levels have spent a tremendous amount of time exploring and discussing multiple return options. The teams also weighed the benefits and negative impacts of a traditional return, alternating schedules, and continued distance learning. Ultimately, the teams concluded that a traditional return is best for our students and community. Pontotoc City School District is confident that we can cultivate a safe learning environment and mitigate the potential spread of Covid-19 using safe practices and procedures. The 2020-2021 Re-entry Plan is organized in three progressive levels: Low/No Spread, Minimal/Moderate Spread, and Substantial Spread. The Low/No Spread level is looked at as a preventative spread phase. Much of what makes up this level is very close to “normal” school, only with extra precautions in place to keep spread as minimal as possible. The Minimal/Moderate Spread level adds even more precautions. This would be enforced if COVID-19 cases begin to rise. Lastly, the Substantial Spread level is just that, substantial numbers of positive COVID-19 cases. As a team working together to ensure the safety of students and employees, as well as continue the tradition of high educational expectations, Pontotoc City School District presents the 2020-2021 Re-entry Plan. Welcoming Back Our Warriors

First Day of School - August 7

Overview

The mission of Pontotoc City School District is to cultivate a spirit of pride, growth and service to prepare our students to flourish as leaders in our community and in the competitive world.
