    1 PROJECT STATUS REPORT PURPOSE

    The objective of this report is to define and track various project activities involved inimplementation and up-gradation of IT infrastructure of the company with the sole purposeof utilizing technology innovations in IT to bring in more efficiency and visibility in variousoperations undertaken by the company.

    The document will list the various tasks with their milestones, budget, implementationconstraints and respective risk associated with different activities or phase of projects.

    This Report serves as a document for reporting on the status of a project to key projectstakeholders.

    2 PROJECT STATUS REPORT

    2.1 Project Status Report Details

    Planning Phase

    o Description:

    Web Portal Development: A web portal is a web site that brings togetherinformation from diverse sources in a unified way. Usually, each informationsource gets its dedicated area on the page for displaying information(a portlet); often, the user can configure which ones to display.

    Wireless Inventory Management System: Inventory management softwareis a computer-based system for tracking product levels, orders, sales anddeliveries. It can also be used to create a work order, bill of materials andother production-related documents. Companies use inventorymanagement software to avoid product overstock and outages

    o Milestone Deliverables for this period will be the activity planning and setting ofmilestone for the upcoming deliverables.All further progress regarding milestoneachieving status like on-schedule,ahead of schedule and behind schedule will beupdated in this section.

    o Success of this planning phase is determined with the most accurate estimation ofbudget,resource and time allocation for different activities involved.Although amarginal range is maintained but any more deviation from the specified limit can

    not only majorly hamper the project implementation but also result in huge financiallosses in terms of responsiveness and efficiency of the companies operations.

    Issues Report

    This pertains to ay areas of concern, specific problems which mightrequire action or any urgent decision making.

    Project recommendations is to execute both the projects simultaneously with properintegration of inventory management system with websphere portal to act one stopdestination to access all the information to different user according to their accessprivileges and thus helps in decision making. The inventory management system itselfautomatically can suggest some actions with the embedded analytics software whichcombine with human managerial intelligence can produce optimized results.
