At Horsfall Beach, leave beach and hike Horsfall Beach Access Rd east to Hwy 101.

2 Cross McCollough Bridge to North Bend.

3Follow signs to “State Parks and Charleston.” Head west on Virginia St.

South on Broadway Street.

West on Newmark Ave to Empire.

South on Cape Arago Hwy to Charleston.

Through hikers will take Seven Devil’s Road south. Dead-end section:A small section of the trail goes north on Boat Basin Rd, then heads southwest on Coos Head Road to Bastendorff Beach. A trail will take you back up to Cape Arago Hwy to Sunset Bay State Park. Follow trail on southside of bay to Shore Acres State Park and then to Cape Arago.

Note, after approximately 6 miles, Seven Devil’s Road turns to gravel at the junction of Beaver Hill Rd.

Return to beach at Seven Devil’s Wayside.

Five Mile Point is passable at low tide in the summer. Alternate route: approx 2.5 miles leads around the point to Whiskey Run beach access.

12Cross the Coquille River Bridge and head southwest on Riverside Dr.

At Bullards Beach State Park, follow trails back to Hwy 101.

Go west on 1st St in Old Town Bandon.

Take Jetty Rd to Coquille River South Jetty County Park. Return to beach

Hiker/Biker Almost every coastal state park campground has Hiker/Biker sites. The tent sites are first-come, first served and are near water, restrooms and showers.

Beach Beach camping is restricted within city limits, state park boundaries, and near snowy plover habitat areas (avoid orange fenced areas during nesting). Fires are not allowed upwind or near driftwood piles.

B E A C H S A F E T Y T I P S

Know the tidesIncoming tides isolate rocks from headlands and the shore. Don’t walk to rocks without knowing when the tide will roll in. Free tide tables are available at state park offices, information centers and many shops and motels. Tide information also is available at the Hatfield Marine Science Center website, http://hmsc.oregonstate.edu/weather/tides/tides.html
