TRANSCRIPT
PLCS-IF Objectives
Provide a neutral and open environment
to accelerate development and
implementation of PLCS adapters
Establish a vendor independent forum
Ensure that user's requirements are
satisfied through real world scenario
based testing
How the PLCS-IF Will Work
Initially three rounds of testing per year to
accelerate development
Round of Testing activities
Software development
Test data preparation
Pre-processing
Syntax and structure validation
Post processing
Semantic analysis and evaluation
Results documentation and presentation
How the PLCS-IF Will Work
Each round starts and ends with a meeting
Meetings will be two to three days in duration
Analysis and discussion of results
Discussion and preparation for next round
Open forum presentation of summary results and
plan
In between meetings, regular communication via e-
mail, conference calls, and collaboration web site
Results of Testing
• Participant specific testing results will not be
provided outside the Implementer Forum
• The results of testing a particular scenario may be
sufficient so that it does not need additional testing
• Testing results may require that a scenario is tested
again in future rounds.
Results of Testing
• Issues with the standard may be uncovered that
require changes or extensions to the standard.
These will be communicated to the appropriate
standards body.
• It may not be clear to participants how to implement
a specific part of the standard, and recommended
practices may need to be developed or modified to
guide implementations.
