Job DescriptionPlay Worker

Glyncoch and Ynysybwl Playscheme

Job Title: Temporary Play Worker (must be 18+)

Employed by: Glyncoch Community Regeneration Ltd

Location: Glyncoch Community Partnership Office

Hours of work: 20 hours for 5 weeks from week commencing 21st July

Accountable to: Team Leader

SALARY: National minimum wage

To work as part of a play scheme team and to support the Team Leader and volunteers at all times

To contribute to the planning and delivery of a needs based, innovative and challenging programme of inclusive, play opportunities for children and young people aged 5 – 14 years.

To support the Team Leader with the maintenance of relevant procedures and administrative documents.

To contribute to ensuring all play activities take place in a safe, secure and non-threatening environment.

To work in partnership with staff engaged to support children with disabilities (Including one to one support).

KEY TASKS

To undertake responsibilities as directed by the Team Leader

To contribute to the planning and delivery of an inclusive stimulating, innovative and challenging programme of play opportunities.

To supervise children in your care at all times.

To report difficulties and/or areas of concern with the Team Leader to address the situation

To ensure that the play opportunities can be accessed, and allow full participation, by children and young people with disabilities

To work on own initiative and as part of a team

To contribute to the monitoring and evaluation process

To adhere to Health and Safety and Equal Opportunity procedures

To ensure that the guidelines relating to confidentiality are maintained at all times ( will be covered in the training)

To adhere to Child Protection procedures (will be covered in training)

To contribute to the end of play scheme evaluation report

A CRB check is necessary upon appointment.
