Planning for my Photographs.

Due to my Genre being Heavy Metal genre, Its important that I spend time not only taking the photos, but doing hair and make up for my photos to fit the genre. Therefore take the photos over a 3 day period, taking 1 hour to do hair and make up each day and then spending the next 2 hours taking the photos and analysing them for half an hour after taking the photos, to assess how I could of taken each photo better.

On the 13th of December, me and my model for my magazine have agreed to go shopping for 3 hours to pick out the clothing that she will wear. Due to the genre being heavy metal rock, I have decided that the colour cohesion of the outfit will be black and gold. I want my model to wear a black leather jacket, and leather look trouser, with shoes with a large platform to show the power and high status, with large gold studs and a gold sole.To match her shoes I plan to buy a black lip liner and gold lip studs, making the foreground image look tougher. For the rest of her make up I have decided to create a smoky eye effect with winged eye liner as this will symbolise how rock stars wear heavy eye make up to conceal them selves.

Due to my magazine being a heavy metal genre, when doing my research I found that most rock stars play the guitar, therefore I will use my own guitar as a prop as this may symbolise to the reader that it’s a rock genre. I have decided to include a microphone, and taking photos of my model in progress of singing, I think that this would show the audience the passion my model has for her music.I think that I will experiment with my model using sunglasses as a prop, to show how her as a rock star is concealing her emotions. A problem with using this prop on my magazine cover it self is that they will detract the readers attention as they would not be able to focus on her eyes, which is the main part of the photo that can draw in the readers attention.

The main setting in which I shall take my photographs is in a grave yard which is at easy access being a 4 minuet walk away form my home, to gain the full effect of this scenery I have decided to go to this location in the evening/afternoon as this may capture the sunset. I think that this represents the rock genre as a grave yard represents the darker, deep tragic meaning that the music has. I want to spend 2 out of the three days planned at this location.Another location that I have decided to include for my magazine is the woods. This is the useful this is at a easy location for my and my model to get to at any time. I think that this is quite a concealed area so would take a fairly dark and edgy shot which would link nicely with my genre.I think that the grave yard would be most relevant for my front cover, due to the fact it can be classed as different but it is also breaking boundaries. There fore will use the images of the woods for my contents and double page spread.

Location

In total I want to take around 40 photos for m magazine. To get a good range of ideas to chose from I would like to include different camera angle shots, there fore I will take 10 over the shoulder shots,10 distance full body shots15 close up shots,5 shots with the camera being at a diagonal point with the subject image.

Types of shots that I would like to take.
