Off for the past 11 days, the Hounds are in search of their first back- to-back wins since early May. Head-to-head, the Independence have been anything but a welcoming opponent to Pittsburgh since joining the league in 2015. In six matches, the Hounds have yet to record a victory, only leaving with points on two occasions, including the first tilt of 2017 between these clubs in April - a 1-1 draw. The visitors enter Tuesday’s contest on a four-game unbeaten streak, including wins in their past three. One thing working in the Hounds’ favor? Charlotte enters the contest on only two day’s rest after defeating Rochester this past Saturday and are 0-1-1 in matches this regular season with less than a week’s rest in between. Scoring two tallies against the Rowdies, the Hounds hope the offensive output is a sign of things to come, as the club is unbeaten when scoring two or more goals in a contest this season (2-0-1). Goals will not be easy to come by though, as the Independence have conceded only three in their past five contests. With the Jamaican duo of Romeo Parkes (two goals in his past three games) and Chevaughn Walsh (first goal of the season against Tampa Bay) emerging as a very formidable pairing to Corey Hertzog (team-leading six goals) up top, both teams will have their hands full in pulling out three points on Tuesday. The injury bug struck again for the Hounds, as they expect to be without starting goalkeeper Trey Mitchell against Charlotte. With Keasel Broome, he of Team of the Week honors for a clean sheet against Tampa Bay, away on international duty, the club will look to recently loaned North Carolina FC keeper Macklin Robinson to tend goal. Robinson’s start will mark the fourth straight year the Hounds have had a loanee start in goal during the regular season - Michael Lisch (2014), Jesse Gonzalez and Matt Lampson (2015), Zack Steffen (2016). Want a major key to victory? Start no further than Corey Hertzog and Kevin Kerr. Recording an assist each against Tampa Bay, the Hounds are 3-0-1 when both players find their way onto the score sheet. 2017 SCHEDULE & RECORD League Record: 5-6-4 Home: 3-4-1 • Away: 2-2-3 • Non-League Play: 0-1-0 MARCH Sat. 25 NEW YORK RED BULLS II YouTube T, 3-3 APRIL Sat. 1 FC CINCINNATI YouTube L, 0-1 Sat. 8 @Charleston Battery YouTube W, 2-1 Wed. 12 SAINT LOUIS FC YouTube L, 1-2 Sat. 15 @Charlotte Independence YouTube T, 1-1 Sat. 22 @Richmond Kickers YouTube L, 1-2 Sat. 29 HARRISBURG CITY ISLANDERS YouTube W, 1-0 MAY Wed. 3 TORONTO FC II ESPN3 W, 1-0 Sat. 13 @Ottawa Fury FC YouTube W, 1-0 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round Two Sat. 17 @Chicago FC United US Soccer L, 1-3 Sat. 20 LOUISVILLE CITY FC YouTube L, 0-1 Wed. 24 @Harrisburg City Islanders YouTube T, 0-0 JUNE Sat. 3 ORLANDO CITY B YouTube L, 1-2 Sat. 10 @Toronto FC II YouTube T, 1-1 Sat. 17 @Louisville City FC CW L, 0-3 Thur. 22 TAMPA BAY ROWDIES YouTube W, 2-0 JULY Tue. 4 CHARLOTTE INDEPENDENCE YouTube 7 pm Sat. 8 @Orlando City B YouTube 7:30 pm Sat. 15 @Bethlehem Steel FC YouTube 5 pm Sat. 22 @Rochester Rhinos YouTube 6:05 pm Wed. 26 CHARLESTON BATTERY YouTube 7 pm Sat. 29 @Tampa Bay Rowdies CW 7:30 pm AUGUST Sat. 5 RICHMOND KICKERS YouTube 7 pm Sat. 12 @Harrisburg City Islanders YouTube 7 pm Sat. 19 @Saint Louis FC YouTube 8:30 pm Sat. 26 BETHLEHEM STEEL FC YouTube 7 pm SEPTEMBER Sat. 2 @FC Cincinnati CW 4 pm Sat. 9 LOUISVILLE CITY FC YouTube 7 pm Sat. 16 ROCHESTER RHINOS YouTube 7 pm Sun. 24 @Bethlehem Steel FC YouTube 3 pm Sat. 30 @New York Red Bulls II YouTube 4 pm OCTOBER Sat. 7 ROCHESTER RHINOS YouTube 7 pm Sat. 14 OTTAWA FURY FC YouTube 7 pm 2017 Pittsburgh Riverhounds > riverhounds.com > @PghRiverhounds > #PGHvCLT LAST TIME OUT Last Game Summary Hounds 2, Tampa Bay Rowdies 0 Game 15 Highmark Stadium June 22, 2017 INDIVIDUAL Category Riverhounds Opponent Points 4 - Corey Hertzog vs. New York (3/25) 4 - Cameron Lancaster, Louisville (6/17) 4 - Vincent Bezecourt, New York (3/25) Goals 2 - Corey Hertzog vs. New York (3/25) 2 - Cameron Lancaster, Louisville (6/17) 2 - Vincent Bezecourt, New York (3/25) Assists 1 - 3x; Kevin Kerr (4/8 | 4/29 | 6/22) 2 - Wes Charpie, Saint Louis (4/12) Shots 7 - Corey Hertzog vs. Orlando (6/3) 6 - Cameron Lancaster, Louisville (6/17) SOG 5 - Corey Hertzog vs. Orlando (6/3) 3 - four tied Saves 5 - Keasel Broome vs. Tampa Bay (6/22) 8 - Earl Edwards Jr., Orlando (6/3) 5 - Trey Mitchell vs. Louisville (5/20) TEAM Hounds High Hounds Low Category Opp High Opp Low 8 - vs. New York (3/25) 0 - four times Points 8 - two times 0 - five times 3 - vs. New York (3/25) 0 - four times Goals 3 - two times 0 - five times 2 - three times 0 - seven times Assists 2 - two times 0 - six times 19 - vs. Orlando (6/3) 6 - two times Shots 22 - at Louisville (6/17) 7 - vs. Orlando (6/3) 9 - vs. Orlando (6/3) 1 - at Louisville (6/17) SOG 7 - two times 2 - two times 5 - two times 0 - vs. Saint Louis (4/12) Saves 8 - vs. Orlando (6/3) 2 - five times 14 - at Charleston (4/8) 7 - vs. Louisville (5/20) Fouls 17 - two times 6 - at Richmond (4/22) SUPERLATIVES CLUB NOTABLES All-Time Leading Goal Scorer ......................................................................
