The Pittsburgh Riverhounds (5-7-6) nabbed a point on the road for a second straight match, playing Bethlehem Steel FC (8-6-3) to a 1-1 draw at Goodman Stadium. Notching the lone tally for Pittsburgh was Chevaughn Walsh in the 24th minute, while Bethlehem found its equalizer in the 27th minute off a penalty conversion by James Chambers. Saturday’s tilt is the first of three meetings between the two clubs this season and the only in Rochester. With a point or better this weekend, the Hounds will have captured points in three straight road matches for the first time since the end of the 2015 season - a stretch then running from Aug. 29 to Sept. 19. Both members of the “Old Guard Shield” in the USL, the Rhinos have been a House of Horrors opponent for the Hounds since they began play in 1999. All-time, the Rhinos hold a 23-6-4 head-to-head advantage, including 12-3-2 since 2011 in the current era of the USL. The last time Pittsburgh captured a victory against the Rhinos? A 2-0 shutout at home on July 4, 2014. The 2014 season was also the only time the Hounds have won in Rochester in the current USL era - a 3-2 victory on June 7. Overall, 10 of the 12 losses since 2011 against Rochester have been clean sheets, while the Hounds have scored goals in only two of their past nine tilts visiting. Saturday’s match expects to be a slugfest with both clubs boasting strong defensive units. The Rhinos rank tied for second in the league in shots on goal faced per game at 3.3 with the Hounds not far behind at four. Additionally, the Hounds enter the match with six clean sheets on the year including two in their past four games, while Rochester is tied for first in the league with seven thanks to another strong season from 2016 Golden Gloves winner Tomas Gomez. • Hounds keeper Keasel Broome is also certainly worth keeping an eye on. Since taking over for injured Trey Mitchell on June 22, Broome has been a brick wall, going unbeaten in three starts (1-0-2). He’s faced 10 shots, turning away all but one - a penalty - and recorded two clean sheets. Despite slotting in at 11th in the league in shots, the Hounds have scored multiple goals only on three occasions this season. Some of that may be a symptom to the team’s lack of shots on goal, as only 75 of their 211 recorded shots have been marked on frame. This conversion rate of 35.5 percent ranks 24th in the league overall and above Harrisburg (34.2), Saint Louis (29.7), Toronto (29.2) and Richmond (26.2) in the East. Saturday’s match is the second of a brutal four-game stretch against opponents with a winning record. The Hounds are 3-4- 1 against such opponents, including 1-1-1 on the road. 2017 SCHEDULE & RECORD League Record: 5-7-6 Home: 3-5-1 • Away: 2-2-5 • Non-League Play: 0-1-0 MARCH Sat. 25 NEW YORK RED BULLS II YouTube T, 3-3 APRIL Sat. 1 FC CINCINNATI YouTube L, 0-1 Sat. 8 @Charleston Battery YouTube W, 2-1 Wed. 12 SAINT LOUIS FC YouTube L, 1-2 Sat. 15 @Charlotte Independence YouTube T, 1-1 Sat. 22 @Richmond Kickers YouTube L, 1-2 Sat. 29 HARRISBURG CITY ISLANDERS YouTube W, 1-0 MAY Wed. 3 TORONTO FC II ESPN3 W, 1-0 Sat. 13 @Ottawa Fury FC YouTube W, 1-0 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round Two Sat. 17 @Chicago FC United US Soccer L, 1-3 Sat. 20 LOUISVILLE CITY FC YouTube L, 0-1 Wed. 24 @Harrisburg City Islanders YouTube T, 0-0 JUNE Sat. 3 ORLANDO CITY B YouTube L, 1-2 Sat. 10 @Toronto FC II YouTube T, 1-1 Sat. 17 @Louisville City FC CW L, 0-3 Thur. 22 TAMPA BAY ROWDIES YouTube W, 2-0 JULY Tue. 4 CHARLOTTE INDEPENDENCE YouTube L, 1-3 Sat. 8 @Orlando City B YouTube T, 0-0 Sat. 15 @Bethlehem Steel FC YouTube T, 1-1 Sat. 22 @Rochester Rhinos YouTube 6:05 pm Wed. 26 CHARLESTON BATTERY YouTube 7 pm Sat. 29 @Tampa Bay Rowdies CW 7:30 pm AUGUST Sat. 5 RICHMOND KICKERS YouTube 7 pm Sat. 12 @Harrisburg City Islanders YouTube 7 pm Sat. 19 @Saint Louis FC YouTube 8:30 pm Sat. 26 BETHLEHEM STEEL FC YouTube 7 pm SEPTEMBER Sat. 2 @FC Cincinnati CW 4 pm Sat. 9 LOUISVILLE CITY FC YouTube 7 pm Sat. 16 ROCHESTER RHINOS YouTube 7 pm Sun. 24 @Bethlehem Steel FC YouTube 3 pm Sat. 30 @New York Red Bulls II YouTube 4 pm OCTOBER Sat. 7 ROCHESTER RHINOS YouTube 7 pm Sat. 14 OTTAWA FURY FC YouTube 7 pm 2017 Pittsburgh Riverhounds > riverhounds.com > @PghRiverhounds > #ROCvPGH LAST TIME OUT Last Game Summary Hounds 1, Bethlehem Steel FC 1 Game 18 Goodman Stadium July 15, 2017 INDIVIDUAL Category Riverhounds Opponent Points 4 - Corey Hertzog vs. New York (3/25) 4 - Jorge Herrera, Charlotte (7/4) 4 - Cameron Lancaster, Louisville (6/17) 4 - Vincent Bezecourt, New York (3/25) Goals 2 - Corey Hertzog vs. New York (3/25) 2 - Jorge Herrera, Charlotte (7/4) 2 - Cameron Lancaster, Louisville (6/17) 2 - Vincent Bezecourt, New York (3/25) Assists 1 - 3x; Kevin Kerr (4/8 | 4/29 | 6/22) 2 - Wes Charpie, Saint Louis (4/12) Shots 7 - Corey Hertzog vs. Orlando (6/3) 6 - Enzo Martinez, Charlotte (7/4) 6 - Cameron Lancaster, Louisville (6/17) SOG 5 - Corey Hertzog vs. Orlando (6/3) 6 - Enzo Martinez, Charlotte (7/4) Saves 6 - Macklin Robinson vs. Charlotte (7/4) 8 - Earl Edwards Jr., Orlando (6/3) TEAM Hounds High Hounds Low Category Opp High Opp Low 8 - vs. New York (3/25) 0 - five times Points 8 - two times 0 - six times 3 - vs. New York (3/25) 0 - five times Goals 3 - three times 0 - six times 2 - three times 0 - eight times Assists 2 - two times 0 - nine times 19 - vs. Orlando (6/3) 6 - two times Shots 22 - at Louisville (6/17) 7 - two times 9 - vs. Orlando (6/3) 1 - at Louisville (6/17) SOG 9 - vs. Charlotte (7/4) 1 - at Orlando (7/8) 6 - vs. Charlotte (7/4) 0 - vs. Saint Louis (4/12) Saves 8 - vs. Orlando (6/3) 1 - at Bethlehem (7/15) 17 - at Orlando (7/8) 7 - vs. Louisville (5/20) Fouls 17 - two times 6 - at Richmond (4/22) SUPERLATIVES CLUB NOTABLES All-Time Leading Goal Scorer ......................................................................
