What do I need to get to level 4 in this task? You will need to complete every aspect of this handout in detail and with relevant

examples to support your points. You will also need to be 100% familiar with the character you are analysing.

Presentation of this task can be a written essay BUT IT MUST be accompanied by at least 1x CLIP and several IMAGES of your character.

Mention the FULL name of your character and the film they are from (It’d be a good idea to embed the film’s trailer at this point and a

picture of the character)

Write in your own words a couple of paragraphs on the films narrative and the role your character plays within it. (Again

accompany this with an image or a clip featuring your character)

Write in your own words a couple of paragraphs on what sort of person your character is and give at least one example to support

the points you make about them.

Write in your own words a few examples of how the writer of the film describes the character through dialogue. (Include EXACT

quotes and write them in italics like this “He is an evil man”) Give us your interpretation of these quotes? Are the accurate accounts?

What words are used by the actual character to describe themselves? (Give quotes and at least 2 examples)

What problems are faced by the character? (there will be more than one problem so try to identify them and a clip or image would be

good at this point)

What reaction does the character have to the problems he/she faces? (Give at least 2 examples and support it with images)

What character traits are displayed? (Is he always telling the truth? Doing the right thing? Capable of killing, again include examples.

What influence does the character have upon the story? (Are the decisions he/she makes important? How do they affect the story?)

Conclude with: How does your character develop throughout the plot? Are they a different person at the end of the film or do they

stay the same?
