Course Aims

Are able to play a prominent and constructive role in the development of physical education, dance and sport for children and young people, both within the school, and in partnership with other children’s services and agencies in the community;

 Have an understanding of physical education involving the synthesis and application of relevant academic, practical and professional perspectives;

Role of the PE teacher 2013/14+

Course aims

To enable students to;

To enable students to understand concepts of physical education through a synthesis and application of relevant academic, practical and professional perspectives.

To enable students to acquire specialist knowledge, understanding and competence in specific aspects of physical education.

To enable students to recognise the distinctive nature of the knowledge and skills applicable to a variety of work based settings demonstrating insight into how to promote their employability.
