Shoot title: Water Throw
Aim: the aim of this shoot is to capture the splash of thrown water. To see what the liquid looks like when it is thrown in the air. I want to try and freeze a big splash in this photo-shoot to create a fascinating shot that people do not get to see
everyday.
Techniques: the shutter speed I plan to use in this shoot and throughout are e.g. 1/320 sec to 1/1000 sec. The ISO will be set to 200 t0 400 as it is outdoors therefore natural lighting will be used. The technique that is required to shoot this plan is
having somebody with one or two jugs filled with water and throw the water in the air at the same time.
Equipment: Nikon D3300 DSLR will be used along with a tripod to minimise hand shake when capturing this shoot. An assistant is needed in order to do this plan – I will be asking my friend to assist me with throwing the action and make a
splash.
Location: I will be shooting outdoors for this planned shoot in a school area in the two hours that I will be given. The outdoor shoot will be easy to tidy up as the splash will be on the dirty ground outside therefore it will dry itself.
Obstacles: the difficulty I may be facing is the rainy weather as raindrops will affect my camera, it can be ruined when water
takes part on the camera because it is not waterproof and the lens can get damaged.

EVIDENCE OF SELECTIONS: TOP 5
The splattered water looks like it is smashed glass in this photo.
Shutter speed of 1/2500 makes the splash appear sharp.
Use of rule of thirds lets the upper half of the photo be the focus.
The use of natural light makes the background and the water have equally tones of brightness.
The splash in one area crowds the focus making the photo looks busy
Aperture of F/5 lets the background be blurred and the action to be sharp.
The troubled facial expression of the figure suggests how messy the water can be when it reaches the ground.
ISO 1600 lets the water appear bright against the black jumper.
The movement of the water falling to the ground creates a smooth visual image.
1/1000 sec shutter speed makes the image sharp.
EVIDENCE OF 2 SELECTIONS: TOP 2
The minor splashes in the image presents a scattered glass look which I feel is captivating for the viewers to see.
The use of natural lighting is bright enough to reflect the light on the water as it is the brightest part making the eye
focus on the most lightest parts of the image.
The movements of the water forms a zig zag shape which adds allure to the photograph and is makes the image
striking for the viewer.
Continuous setting to shoot this photo allows the image to be in the focused area which is between both hands
and against the black garment which presents as a backdrop to outline the water clearly.

FINAL IMAGE
The water’s movement in this shot looks illustrated by the figure which applies femininity by the curved shapes created out of the splash.
The organic shapes of the figure matches with the natural shape of the water which links the image components together.
The balanced composition is achieved by the rule of thirds in this photo creating a tidy image that pulls all the objects together.
Exposure of 1/1000 froze the water to appear sharp and make it look like ice which I feel looks splendid as well as the continuous settings helps to freeze the action in gradual movement.
