NETWORKING Would you like to meet with and get to know industry members in your area better?

In the Portland Maine area we have a “relaxed” group that meets once a month for lunch to catch up and keep tabs on happening in our industry. It was suggested that similar groups would be a welcome addition to other areas in Maine, especially in our winter months. Get a group started today for your region! We would love it if we could have four more groups around the state that might meet be-tween the NKBA meetings. This would not be directly affiliated with the chapter, would not be a CEU event, but we could announce your meetings in this newsletter and on our social media platforms.

You might be asking what was with all the sponsorships this year? Well in a nutshell—speakers, venues and food are costly! On average—speakers can cost the chapter $1200-$3000 to bring to a meeting. Our nicer venues charge either high food costs or room charges. Add it all together and either we have sponsors or we would have to charge $75 or more for a regular chapter meeting. What’s in it for you the vendor? Exposure, net-working, with a little fun thrown in there.

The speakers we are trying to bring you this year are beyond the normal NKBA speaker. They speak to all area’s of the industry—the technolo-gy, the forward thinking, the legacy, the here and now as well as the future.. However, we need sponsors to bring them to Maine AND we need the industry in Maine to show this is what you want to see!

SO—interested in sponsoring? Please call a chapter council member (go to nkbamaine.org for contact information)

MEMBERSHIP - Members have privileges: Member pricing on meetings and events Ability to sponsor and or host chapter meetings Visibility to membership thru meeting announcements, newsletters, “10 minutes of fame” at the start of our meetings. As you may have noticed the council works hard to make our events good learning experiences for members—the number one thing we hear most often, though, is how members look forward to our events to see old ac-quaintances, friends and to meet new people in our industry. We are a great bunch here in Maine. Won’t you join us? Contact
