Dear Fellow Pilgrims,
We move toward the holidays with great anticipation,
warmth and joy. Well, some of us do. But for others, the
holidays bring a high level of anxiety, conflict and even
fear. And while many of us will happily thrive on the
time we spend with family, others are already struggling
to nurse the knots in their stomachs.
How often are we reminded that this time of year is and ought to be about family, the romance and nostalgia
of people who all love each other as they gather around a table? Indeed, many of us have such wonderful
and comforting encounters with our families. But not all of us. Not all family systems are healthy and func-
tional. Many are plagued with addictions, abuse, harsh judgments, petty divisions, and aggressive anger.
If you’re among those – and so many, many of us are – with hurtful images of family due to the abuses you
experienced or witnessed as a child, please know you are not alone. The fact that family gatherings might be
trauma triggers for you does not mean you are ungrateful or somehow broken. It simply affirms that you are
a loving, sensitive, and vulnerable person created in the same image and likeness as the loving, sensitive and
vulnerable Christ. Please know that you belong here at the table of our community, our Seton family. Here
you are safe. We will not judge you, hurt you, scold you, or pick on you. We will simply love you for the
beautiful person God created you to be. We will surround you with the centering peace of Jesus himself.
And if you are among those of us who come from warm, healthy family systems, I encourage you to em-
brace the holidays with gratitude. Be forever thankful, for you have been given a great gift. Be sure to tell
the members of your family how deeply you value and love them. But also remember that you have an obli-
gation to share your supportive, unconditional love with others beyond the boundaries of your own family.
Mostly, regardless of the nature of your family system, please remember to be patient with one another. If a
neighbor or co-worker is not in the Thanksgiving or Christmas spirit, well, be kind and gentle toward that
person. You don’t know his or her history. And as you set your Thanksgiving table and decorate your
home, please make sure you take some time to care for your heart as well. Will your eyes, your heart, your
thoughts and your words sing a joyful “Happy Thanksgiving” with more sincerity than your napkins and
decorations?
Above all, remember we are all one family and “whatever you do for one of the least brothers of mine, you
do for me.”
Peace,
Deacon Steve

An Invitation to Married Couples who may wish to have
their marriages Celebrated as a Sacrament
The Sacrament of Marriage is a sacred relationship which enhanc-
es not only the couples involved in marriage, but also enriches the
church by the witness couples give to the intimate, faithful union
that mirrors Christ’s loving relationship with us.
We invite couples who are already married, but who have not had
their marriage celebrated as a Catholic sacrament to meet with us
to share how we might be able to make that happen.
If you couldn’t make it to one of the group meetings, or prefer to meet
privately, please contact the parish office at 499-1546.

We appreciate your

November 8 & 9 we celebrated Stewardship Weekend throughout the Diocese
of Green Bay. Bishop Ricken chose the theme “Make a Joyful Noise.” We
would like to give a special “Thank You” to Don Nelson and the Faith For-
mation leaders and students for making the wonderful video that was played
prior to all Masses. We greatly appreciate the help from all those unsung
champions who contributed to make the weekend a great success.
Sincerely,
Stewardship Committee
St. Patrick’s Food Pantry
In addition to food, we recently donated $220. Their thank-
you letter noted that the funds will be used solely to pur-
chase food. Thus far, the pantry has served 137 more fami-
lies than the same time period last year.
SEAS Care Package
We received a thank you from Noah
Simmons for the Care Package. He
was the seminarian who spoke at our
August 8 & 9 Masses.
Middle East Collection
We donated $2,514 for the Middle East Collection and received a thank you from the Catholic Foun-
dation. The funds will be used to meet the most urgent humanitarian needs facing the people in Iraq,
Gaza, Syria and surrounding countries where Christians and other innocent victims are persecuted.
Please remember them in your prayers.

A huge thank you to Kimberley Biese who bundled up to join the SEAS’s shift for the local 40 Days for Life peaceful public
prayer campaign near Planned Parenthood on Oneida Street this October. Big thanks also to Shannon Greisen who tirelessly
advocates for the dignity of all human life from the first moment of conception to its natural end.
Abortion is the leading cause of death in the world, ending more lives than cardiovascular disease, cancer, AIDS, war, hun-
ger ... or any other cause.* You can change that! There were 710 babies’ lives saved (that we know of) during the latest world-
wide 40 Days Campaign as well as countless lives of mothers, fathers, grandparents, siblings, etc. who are direct
beneficiaries of those 710 decisions to choose life. Please prayerfully consider joining the SEAS shift
(tentatively 10-11 a.m. Fridays) for the next campaign which will be held during Lent 2015.

Funeral Dinners
It is our pleasure to be able to honor the families of those who have passed away from our parish by offering funeral din-
ners, when we are able, to those who are mourning. We are in need of people to help serve these meals. We also have a
need for people to bring in baked goods as the dessert for the funerals.
If you are interested in this ministry, please contact Sherri Oswald at 499-8836 or Jean Glysch at 499-9096.
Church Cleaners Needed!
Time commitment is approximately 2 to 3 hours only 5 to 6 times a year.
The worship area is divided into different areas for cleaning.
Depending on where you are assigned, duties could include vacuuming, dusting, window washing,
straightening of missalettes and cleaning up the proverbial tidbits left behind.
Clean when you are available (and when the church is open) during your assigned week.
Get someone to volunteer with you as a team.
We will soon be putting together the cleaning schedule for the entire year and want to add those of you
who are interested. If you have any questions, contact the parish office at 499-1546.
To sign up for this important minist ry, p lease contact Kathy at 499 -1546.
Your help will be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
