Fees There is no charge for day use of the site but the cost for an overnight stay is $15 per vehicle ($7.50 for seniors and people with disabilities). The camp host will collect these fees and issue receipts. Please be aware of the thousands of pine seedlings that were recently planted in the site to replace trees killed by the Mountain Pine Beetle epidemic. Anytime that you are not walking on a road or in a cleared camping site, you risk trampling these small seedlings. You can also help by keeping vehicles on roads or in parking areas. Section 42 of the Liquor Control and Licensing Act states that “ ....Except for liquor purchased and consumed in accordance with a license permitting consumption in a public place, no person shall consume liquor in a public place.” This campground is patrolled by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Safety Peterson’s Beach swimming area has no lifeguards. Children should be closely supervised. Water skiers and motorized boats must exercise caution in the beach area. Ormond Lake Hiking Trail has steep drop-offs in the canyon area. Children and pets must be restrained and the trail should not be used by young people without supervision. Recreation Site Roads are used for walkways and may have children playing on them. Please drive slowly and exercise caution when backing up. All terrain vehicle and motorcycle use is not allowed in the camping area. Wildlife the area surrounding Peterson’s Beach is home to diverse wildlife. Avoid contact with any wild animals that you may encounter. Firewood Campers are encouraged to bring their own firewood for use at the site. Depending on availability, the camp host may have firewood available for purchase. Note: Cutting down trees in the site for firewood is strictly forbidden. Sanitary Facilities The Camp Host/Contractor is responsible for keeping the outdoor toilets and campsite areas in a safe and sanitary condition.
