1st Place // Kalamata

Highlights: Kalamata bay • Ancient Messene • Kitries sea village • Kardamili village

Kalamata is located 100 km from Sparta town, 15 km from Kalamata international airport & 238 km south

west of Athens. The natural beauty of Messinia with the indented shores, sandy beaches, forested

mountains and fertile valleys, coexists with significant archaeological monuments. Kalamata, the capital

and central port of Messinia. Kalamata is one of the very few places in Greece that provides an extended

urban network of cycling paths. This is the best way to explore the city! To do: swimming & sunbathing,

sailing, sea sports, shopping premium local products such us olive oil, raisins, figs.

Kitries village is located 15 km east south from Kalamata. It may be your second route, cycling easy

along the Kalamata bay, totally 30 km.

Ancient Messene archaeological site & museum is located 40km north west of Kalamata.

Kardamili is a seaside village located 40km south of Kalamata. Set against a backdrop of crystalline

aqua-blue waters, majestic cypress trees, olive groves, verdant rolling hills and distant mountains.

Cycling to Kardamili is challenging but strongly suggested for experienced with good fitness level cyclists.

2nd Place // Navarino

Highlights: Pylos / Navarino • Voidokilia beach • Marathopoli village • Kyparissia coast

Navarino bay & Kyparissia coast is an ideal nature place to cycle, full of olive trees, villages, beach hotels!

Pylos is a traditional style town historically also known as the harbor of Navarino bay. In the 1280s the

Franks built the Old Navarino castle on the site. In October 1827, the combined Ottoman–Egyptian fleets

were defeated in the bay at the Battle of Navarino by the allied navies of the United

Kingdom, France and Russia. The area is well known for its natural beauty, ride from Pylos to the Gialova

wetland, one of 10 major lagoons in Greece, classified as one of the important bird areas in Europe. Next

to Gialova take a break fro a swim at Voidokilia beach, in the shape of the Greek letter omega (Ω), its

sand forms a semicircular strip of dunes.

The Marathopoli is a picturesque seaside village with sea food restaurants & night life. Proti islet

opposite is the landmark of the area, a well known scuba diving spot. Marathopoli is located in strategic

tourist point, 4 km from Gargaliani, 30 km from Pylos, 10 km from the Costa Navarino golf resort, 30 km

from Kyparrissia, 60 km from Kalamata airport, 75 km from Kalamata. More info: www.marathopolis.gr

Kyparissia is your next place of interest to visit, a modern small town, next to the sea. From Kyparissia

starts an amazing dirt road route along the old railway and the coast. Ride a flat terrain for 30 km until the

edge of Messinia region, at the Elaia village and the Neda river witch meets the sea.

3rd Place // Sparta

Highlights: Sparta • King Leonidas • Olive Culture • Gythio seaside village

Sparta is located on the south eastern side of Peloponnese, 250 km from Athens, modern Sparti

or Sparta is a small town with famous history. In Greek mythology the founder of the city was

Lacedaemon, a son of Zeus, who gave his name to the region and his wife’s name to the city. Sparta was

also an important member of the Greek force which participated in the Trojan War. Indeed, the Spartan

king Menelaos instigated the war after the Trojan prince Paris abducted his wife Helen. The word

“spartan” means self-restrained, frugal and austere. Leonidas (c. 530-480 B.C.) was a king of the city-

state of Sparta from about 490 B.C. until his death at the Battle of Thermopylae against the Persian army

in 480 B.C. Although Leonidas lost the battle, his death was seen as a heroic sacrifice because he sent

most of his army away when he realized that the Persians had outmaneuvered him. Three hundred of his

fellow Spartans stayed with him to fight and die.

Do not miss:

Τhe Archaeological Museum: its exhibits cover a tremendously long period (Neolithic to Roman age).

Τhe King Leonidas statue, which stands belligerently in front of a soccer stadium. Τhe Museum of the Olive oil: get to know the culture and technology of a natural product.

Accommodation facilities: Sparta features low budget accommodation & apartments. You can stay

at Gythio, which is located 40 km south. Gythio features sandy beaches, fish taverns, warm people. For

a difficult mountain route, ride to the castle town Monemvasia, 50 km from Gythio. Stay at luxury hotels.

In western Peloponnese, 265 km from Athens, in the beautiful valley of the Alpheios river, lies the most

celebrated sanctuary of ancient Greece. Dedicated to Zeus, the father of the gods, Olympia became the

most important religious & athletic centre in the ancient world. The 1st ancient Olympic Games were

held at 776 B.C. More info odysseus.culture.gr. Pyrgos town is located 20 km from Olympia.

Just 1 km from the Olympia, Klio’s honey farm. Klio will welcome you with a platter of seasonal fruits,

fresh juice and coffee, into a garden filled with fruit trees & vegetables. You will taste the products of the

Castle of Chlemoutsi is located 60 km west north from ancient Olympia. The best preserved Frankish

castle of Peloponnese. The Castle of Chlemoutsi was built between 1220 and 1224 by Geoffrey I

Villehardouin. After this, the Franks invaded the region and took control of the Castle, becoming its

inhabitants for several years.

Accommodation facilities: You can stay at Olympia village, next to the archaeological site. Another option

is to choose luxury family resort hotels at the Kyllini beach & the Loutra beach. Take a ferry boat from

Kyllini port (7 km from Chlemoutsi castle) to continue your trip for the famous Zante island / Zakynthos.

Highlights: Fortresses of Nafplio • Ancient Mycenae • Tolo village • Leonidio beach

Nafplio is a seaport town located 2 hour’s drive by car from Athens. The town was the capital of the

First Hellenic Republic 1821 and of the Kingdom of Greece. The beautiful old city has a wealth of narrow

alleyways and streets, steep stairs, taverns serving delicious Greek food, lively bars, clubs and cafés,

a lovely seafront promenade. Palamidi Fortress. This vast & spectacular citadel stands on a 216m-high

outcrop of rock. The island fortress of Bourtzi overlooking the town’s port. Rising above the old part of

town, the Akronafplia fortress. Karathonas is located only 5 km from Nafplio, the closest beach to swim.

Tolo is a fishing village, located 11km from Nafplio. Perfect for any kind of holiday, crystal clear waters

and sandy beaches, highly recommended for swimming, water sports, fishing or perfect for a more upbeat

taste of culture. Ride non busy roads, next to the sea, to Drepano & Vivari beach villages, 4 km south.

Mycenae archaeological site is located 25 km from Nafplio. Most of the visible monuments date from

1350 to 1200 BC. Great Cyclopean walls surround the almost triangular acropolis, the famous Lion Gate,

the symbol of the Mycenaean rulers' power. More info: odysseus.culture.gr

Accommodation facilities: Nafplio has luxury hotels & apartments. Tolo features budget beach hotels.

If you are looking for a more difficult cycling route (80 km), follow the road across the sea to the south

from Nafplio, to Kios, Astros and finally to Leonidio. Stay at budget hotels of Leonidio Plaka beach.

You need only 170 km (2 h 45 min.) to drive from Athens to Epidaurus coastal town of Argolida.

In the peaceful hinterland of Epidaurus, with its mild climate and abundant mineral springs,

is the sanctuary of the god-physician Asklepios, the most famous healing centre of the Greek and Roman

world. It is considered the birthplace of medicine. Visit the Ancient theatre, the Stadium & the Museum.

Continue your transfer to Ermioni beach town, located 30 km (45 min.) from Epidaurus. Your cycling

experience starts here. Ermioni is a beautiful coastal town or a city - island like is been characterized.

Ermioni offers ideal holidays combining peaceful atmosphere with a lively fun & traditional taverns.

Riding from Ermioni to Porto Heli is a 20 km coastal route of pleasure. Villas, mansions, luxury resorts

surrounded by olive groves, beautiful beaches, attractive summer villas and a stunning new resort, yacht

marinas, the island of Spetses across, fresh fish and a lively nightlife. Porto Heli has it all.

Take the ferry boat (20 min.) to Spetses Island. Peaceful moments between the land and the sea.

Spetses is a perfect place to cycle around. The island has an elegant ambience, steeped in 5,000 years

of rich history, and locals are eager to tell the tales. Explore and be amazed.

Highlights: Loutraki • Corinth Canal • Vrahati sea village • Xylokastro sea village

The distance from Athens international Airport to Loutraki town is 115 km (1 h 30 min.) at a highway.

Loutraki town has it all: spas, casino, easy access. Loutro means bath and Loutraki is the oldest bath city

in Greece, dating back to antiquity. These days its ultramodern spa is linked to the local casino and

betting on the hot springs is a sure thing. Lively and fashionable, with cafes, restaurants, beautiful beach,

palm trees, waterfalls and Belle Epoque-style hotels. Suggested to stay at the Casino Loutraki Hotel.

Vouliagmeni lagoon just 16km from Loutraki a surprising landscape awaits you. A closed lagoon

encircled by greenery, it can be your summer hideaway. A challenging route with hills & amazing views.

Riding from Loutraki to Vrahati beach village is a 30 km coastal route, with a stop at the Corinth town.

This is a place for leisure and family holidays, all year round. Strongly proposed to stay at the Alkyon

will be a pleasure to ride with your children & older family members. A visit to the local winery is worth it.

Xylokastro for the nature. Xylokastro is between the sea and the Pefkias Forest. The town and the area

of Xylokastro in Corinth are among the most famous summer resorts in Greece. The shores of Xylokastro

are a series of lovely bays where you can find organized parts with lively beach bars & water sports.

Rental Terms

1. Customers check bikes prior to pick up, confirm the bikes, the accessories & as the rental gear, all are in a perfect condition.

2. Customers agree on the guarantee fee policy, which is the 1/3 of the total retail value of each bike rented. The guarantee fee

is pre-charged on the customers’ credit card, but the guarantee fee will not be charged on the credit card, if the Customers return

their bikes in its initial perfect condition after its rental. Kassimatis Cycling Company service staff is designated to conduct the

bike and gear check so in case of damage the gaurantee fee will be charged as a compensation.

3. In case Customers fail to return bikes to Kassimatis Cycling Company premises for any reason (e.g. theft), they are obliged to

deposit a compensation fee at a bank account the Kassimatis Cycling Company determines. The compensation fee is

determined by the retail price of each bike. In case of not return to the company or loss or damages to accessories provided for

free the company will charge at time of collecting this amounts: puncture kit 7euro/each, small pump 7 euro/each,

4. Customers return bikes to the Kassimatis Cycling Store or to any other designated place agreed by both parties. The return

time limit is the closing hour of the store depending on the first pick-up rental day (Sundays and Bank holidays are excluded). In

case customers fail to return bikes on the day initially determined by both parties, there will be an extra charge of a day’s rental

price multiplied by the number of days of the delay. In case an extra transfer is required, customers are obliged to pay the

transfer expenses. In case customers ask to change the return day, the Company has the right to reject the request and

customers are expected to oblige.

5. All Rentals or any other payment agreement by Customers come in advance, prior to bike use. The Company offers

discount prices for multiple rental days. Customers are being informed at the www.kassimatiscycling.gr The Company has the

right to change the discount prices without prior notice. In case of a group booking request from another company or a travel

agency or a hotel, the Company offers special prices, upon availability.

6. Customers request for a delivery at their hotel or any other place, besides Kassimatis Store at Piraeus. First, the Company will

check for the availability of the bike transfer. Then, if the request is confirmed, Customers agree to pay an extra fee, in order to

cover transfer expenses. Company has the right to ask for more than 50 euro if the location if the delivery is far from Piraeus.

Company has the right to reject these requests as well.

7. Customers are the only individuals allowed to use their rented bikes. All bike rentals are personal and lending is strictly

prohibited. Customers who do not comply to this condition take full responsibility in case of an accident, loss, damage or any

other illicit use of the bikes.

8. Cancelation Policy: 100% money returns if the Company is informed (e-mail) 14 or more days prior to the arranged pick-up

day. In any other case money return is impossible.

9. Customers confirm they are in a prefect physical condition capable of riding a bike. The Company cannot be held responsible

in case of death, illness or any other ailment. Customers themselves are fully responsible for their physical integrity.

10. The low court of Piraeus in Greece has the only Jurisdiction in case of dispute between the parties.

11. The Company has the right to send more offers using Customers’ e-mail accounts.

Hotel Package Booking

1. Request a Quote for the availability status related to your stay date before.

2. After, we expect from you a list of all requested services, then we will confirm you the final offer & the payment procedure.

3. You are strongly suggested to have your own travel insurance.

4. In case our package refers to a min. nights' stay limit, you may ask for an offer for less /more nights' stay, hotel availability.

5. In case our package rates refers to a full board accommodation (all 3 meals per day), you may ask for an offer for half board

or bed & breakfast accommodation, and get a discount.

Booking Confirmation

All bookings are made with G. KASSIMATIS SOLE SHAREHOLDER LTD, trading as Action Tours & Rentals by Kassimatis

Cycling (us/we). Some of the Hotels may require a minimum participation group policy. By booking a Hotel Package with us you

are deemed to have agreed to these Booking Terms (which constitutes the entire agreement between you and us) and your

booking will be accepted by us on this basis. The services to be provided are those referred to in your booking confirmation

invoice. In order for us to confirm your travel arrangements you must provide all requested details with the balance of the

booking price. Necessary details for each person, include full name as per passport, date of birth, nationality, passport number,

passport issue and expiry date and any pre-existing medical conditions you have which may affect your ability to complete your

travel arrangements. Your booking cannot be confirmed without provision of these details.

Payment

• We will honor a reservation upon a 50% deposit received, with e-mailed bank confirmation.

• Balance payable up to 32 days prior to arrival date.

• Bookings made less than 32 days prior to arrival date, must be paid in full.

Entries will be confirmed in written by Action Tours & Rentals. In case of a group booking, you should notice one contact person,

the one who get in touch with us and manages the payment. All prices may change during 2017 upon hotels’ new policies or new

taxes. Payment can be made using Action Tours & Rentals corporate banking account via Electronic bank transfer deposit. All

prices and payments are in EURO currency. All bank charges must be made to you; otherwise there will a shortfall in your

payment we receive. Should the deposit / balance payment not be received within the time frame specified, Action Tours &

Rentals has the right to cancel your bookings and to charge the applicable Cancelation Charges, set out below.

Cancellation by You

If you cancel some or all portions of your booking, cancellation fees will apply. A cancellation will only be effective when we

receive written confirmation of the cancellation. If you cancel a booking/reservation: Up to 56 days (8 weeks) prior to arrival date

(check in), 90% refundable. 55 - 32 days prior to arrival date (check in), deposit of 50% refundable. 31 days or less prior to arrival

date (check in), 100% non refundable.

Please note that for certain travel arrangements the cancellation charge may be higher than those shown. You will be advised of

different cancellation charges at time of booking. If you fail to join, or join it after departure, or leave it prior to its completion, no

refund will be made. The above cancellation fees are in addition to fees which may be levied by accommodation providers, travel

agents or third party tour and transport operator fees.

Cancellation by Us

We may cancel a booking/reservation at any time prior to arrival date if, due to terrorism, natural disasters, political instability or

other external events it is not viable for us to operate the planned itinerary. If we cancel your booking/reservation up to 32 days

prior to arrival date, - you can transfer amounts paid to an alternate date (upon hotel availability), - you can ask to transfer your

stay at a different hotel (upon availability) - or alternatively receive a full refund.

In circumstances where the cancellation is due to external events outside our reasonable control refunds will be less any

unrecoverable costs. We are not responsible for any incidental expenses that you may have incurred as a result of your booking

including but not limited to visas, vaccinations, and travel insurance excess or non-refundable flights.

Riding Style. On guided tours, riders tend to stick together as a group. The most of the times our groups are 4 to 9

persons. At the Sport Poseidon Ride, sometimes can go ahead to the next turn, but the norm is sticking together.
