Graphic Design/Production: Create artwork on behalf of Retail Group for magazines, newsletters, newspapers, brochures, point of sale material and other print pieces. Produce online graphics and advertising banners. Contribute ideas and design artwork to meet the overall brief and associated objectives. Work to tight deadlines ensuring accuracy and output quality does not suffer. Produce accurate high quality artwork within corporate brand guidelines and standards. Develop and enhance designs/artwork by gathering information and data to clarify design requirements. Think creatively to produce new ideas. Use innovation to clarify briefs/job requirements and to meet the constraints of cost and time. Manage all supplier relationships with a high degree of professionalism ensuring all parties receive a detailed Position Objective The Graphic Designer is responsible for the co-ordination and production of artwork for a variety of media ensuring that all work meets the overall company brand standards and creative objectives on behalf of the Retail Group.

    1. Graphic Design/Production:

    Manage the capture, collation and archiving of photo shoot imagery.

    Maintain an integrated image/product information database for company and supplier products.

    Support any in-store or external trade show events that may require graphics expertise.

    2. Internal Coordination Ensure a smooth and timely work flow is maintained by managing projects and artwork/production demands within deadlines.

    Maintain an updated historical file of all creative material/artwork produced.

    3. Administration/Reporting Record any expenditure reporting monthly.

    General administration duties as and when required to ensure accurate budget reporting.

    4. Other Duties As reasonably directed by the National Advertising Manager from time to time.

    Technical Skills

    At least 2 to 5 years previous relevant experience.

    Total understanding of print production and knowledge of different formats for printing.

    Skills in CS6 applications Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator and Flash.

    Knowledge of different formats for web regarding image, vector, html, xml, jpg and gif. Must be able to work independently with little supervision, as well as in a team.

    Sound people skills and the ability to establish and build on working relationships effectively.

    Demonstrated ability to use initiative, apply and maintain standards and ideas within a corporate environment.

    Knowledge of and empathy with the retail sector.

    Good communication skills both oral and written at all levels.

    Ability to plan and prepare for outcomes on the basis of priority and effective management of time.

    Ability to learn and understand details pertaining to the organisations effective operation.
