Suggested Pacing Guide

Suggested by Oct. 30: Assess all 14 District Indicators within the Indistar Tool for the 2015-2016 school year Assessments done in earlier years are not considered current. Indicators are marked No Development, Limited Development, or Fully Implemented. If marked Fully Implemented, pertinent, up to date evidence must be in the document file.

Page 29: Paul Wieneke, Indistar® Program Specialist Office of Student and School Success Technical Assistance: District-level Indistar Action Planning: A Tutorial

Suggested Pacing Guide (continued)

Suggested between October 30, 2016 and February 28th, 2016: S.M.A.R.T goals and tasks are developed for the indicators marked No development, or Limited Development. If a district is taking on new initiatives such as new interim assessment or a curriculum, these can be a task, but they should speak directly to how it will impact and be monitored for the identified school.

Page 30: Paul Wieneke, Indistar® Program Specialist Office of Student and School Success Technical Assistance: District-level Indistar Action Planning: A Tutorial

Suggested Pacing Guide (continued)February 28th Due date: If the district has a school in a Step of Improvement (any school not just an identified school), this plan needs to be submitted Feb 28. We have integrated the ESEA-AYP requirements in the District Action Planning tool. Please see page 66 of the Central Office Action Planning Guidance for District Leadership, which outlines Expectations for Districts in Step 1 or 2 of Improvement Based on AYP.

Pacing Guide (continued)February 28th Due date:

If a district is in a Step of Improvement (Step 1 or Step 2 of ESEA-AYP), and the district has an identified Focus or Priority school, the District team is required to have addressed six specific indicators in the District Indistar® plan. An additional web form is also due on February 28th for districts in Step 2 of ESEA-AYP. We have integrated the ESEA-AYP requirements in the Indistar ®District Action Planning tool. Please see page 66 of the Central Office Action Planning Guidance for District Leadership, which outlines Expectations for Districts in Step 1 or 2 of Improvement Based on AYP.

Page 32: Paul Wieneke, Indistar® Program Specialist Office of Student and School Success Technical Assistance: District-level Indistar Action Planning: A Tutorial

Pacing Guide (continued)

Suggested October 30, 2015-May 30, 2015: Evidence of monitoring of the tasks that were developed. There may be date changes, or additional tasks taking place as the district supports or implements activities that directly relate to the identified school needs. Please read the Guidance for District Plans (linked on the main Indistar District Dashboard) for an example of a monitoring activity.

Pacing Guide (continued)

May 30 Due: Required submission date for 2015-2016 Monitor and Evaluation of tasks for the year. The narrative for each indicator must be updated. This is an evolving plan, one that we never get to full implementation, for all of the principles. This submission should speak to the work that is accomplished for this year.

Page 34: Paul Wieneke, Indistar® Program Specialist Office of Student and School Success Technical Assistance: District-level Indistar Action Planning: A Tutorial

Pacing Guide (continued)

What happens after the May 30 submission? A group of district coach reviewers review each plan submitted within the Indistar Tool and give feedback to the districts on their action planning. Affirmations and considerations are given. The form is emailed directly to the district liaison as soon as the form is submitted by the reviewer. Feedback forms may also be located in Indistar® by clicking on the “Coaching Review” button on the District Main Dashboard page in Indistar®.
