Dear Readers,

On this occasion of 70th Independence Day

celebration of our mother land, it’s indeed my

pleasure and honour to dedicate the

4th volume of Noble E-News to the soldiers

who are protecting our sovereignty at the

border and at Siachin. This volume has the

various activities of noble students’, staff and

country is moving forward in a direction to

fulfil the dream of late Sri. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. As per the latest survey, this

year economic growth of our country is 46%, which is the highest in the entire

world. If we move forward in the same speed, then definitely by 2030, we will

be the super giant in the world. For this development to happen, students,

parents, teachers, industrialists, bureaucrats, government are responsible.

Thus, Noble group of institutions is doing a tiny effort in encouraging and

motivating the students to showcase their hidden talent of research,

innovation in the field of Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Science and

Technology. I believe that, our effort in taking the noble E- news to your door

never goes in vain.

I acknowledge the effort of our editorial team in bringing this volume within

the stipulated time.

Yours,

Dr. H. N. Nagaraja

Industrial Visits

The Degree Mechanical engineering department had organized industrial visit

on 13th August 2016 with an objective to learn about the computational

machining process and the methods of working mechanical tools with the help

of different machines. Total 55 students of 5th Semester accompanied by 3

Faculties visited IGTR, Ahmedabad. All students learnt about how to

communicate with machine and its work. Indo German Tool Room

Ahmedabad is a tool room and training Centre engaged in production of tools

of precision plastic & metal component and also engaged in area of Training in

tool and die making, CAD/CAM & CNC Technology. It was a great and

memorable experience of students and faculty members.

The Mechanical Engineering Department had organized a seminar on Product Design &

Development on 26th July, 2016. Mr. Vaibhav Chowksi from CADD Center Junagadh was a key speaker

and presented a brief on “using CAD as development tool”. Total 280 students were participated in

the seminar. The event was opened & ended by Prof. Vasim G Machhar, Head of Mechanical

Engineering Department with welcome and Thanks speech.

Noble group of institutions arranged faculty development programme aims at developing

the teaching practices which will enable the faculty members to bridge the gap between

the skills required by the engineers on the field and the skills they acquire during their

learning experience. All the Faculties of NGI participated in this workshop for improving

their teaching learning process.

With the association of Sathway, Transforming Life Together, we believe in furnishing the

fraternity of educators in engineering with the varied opportunities to fuse technology with

their thinking skills and people skills. This is to provide them a real life environment or

situations to gear them up to confront the real world problems EVENTUALLY helping them

and their learners to imbibe the 21st century skills. The rise in student and faculty

satisfaction will work hand in hand with the vision of organization. 21st century is

witnessing a paradigm shift, especially in teaching learning process.

The role of a teacher has been changed from a knowledge distributor to a facilitator, a

guide. To play this role effectively, an educator has to be aware and an expert of various

teaching pedagogies relevant to the modern era for our digital native learners. FLIP

classroom is one of the most well–researched and consequently well-accepted by the

learners. To empower the teachers with such innovative teaching pedagogies, we are

looking to conduct “Developing Higher Order Thinking Skill”, a unique program for faculties.

For the newly introduce subject cyber security by GTU for 5th semester students

department of computer science had arranged a seminar for this course on 15th July,

2016 by cyber security expert Mr. Jaydeep Zala. More than 300 students have attended

this seminar.

The objective of cyber security program is to help all the students to develop awareness

and can start career in cyber security. Governments, military, corporate institutions,

financial institutions, hospitals and other business sectors, collect, process and store a

great deal of confidential information on computers and transmit that data across

networks to other computers. With the growing volume and sophistication of cyber-

attacks, we need cyber security.

industries. Nearly 125 students and all Faculty Members of Electrical as well as

Electronics and Communication Department were present during this

seminar. The objectives of the seminar were to introduce students about

recent trends of automation in industries using PLC – SCADA with some basic

programming knowledge of PLC – SCADA and about the job opportunity for

Electrical and Electronics & Communication Engineering student in the field of

automation.

Expert from MBCON, Junagadh delivered their expert talk on Automation and

control. The seminar was divided into two session – Expert talk on PLC, SCADA

and HMI devices and Hardware demonstration based on Automation.

First session of seminar started with basics of PLC, its various types, Ladder

Programing and various communication protocols of PLC with industrial

application. After that expert delivered a talk on SCADA and how one can

communicate or relate PLC with SCADA, about various HMI devices and what

are the various needs of SCADA in recent industries.

Second session of seminar was very interactive as well as interesting for

students due to hardware demonstration with some hands on practice.

During this session expert demonstrate hardware of AC Drives, stepper motor

and servo motor control using PLC – SCADA.

The Head of Department of Electrical Engineering gave a vote of thanks to all

experts from MBCON, Junagadh and all faculty members and students for

which is 35km from junagadh city. It was indeed a fun filled day. The group

comprised of students from Computer Science and Information Technology of

all the semester even 1st Semester students too. Total 100 students and 10

faculties enjoyed the picnic a lot. During the picnic time students played

different games for team building activity, group activity and show their inner

potential. It proved to be a fruitful as well as enjoyable day with everyone

Today’s youth is tomorrow’s nation. And today’s youth are our students.

Students do pay a vital role in the society and how a society is shaped

generation after generations. The formative period of an individual is during

the student phase and hence it is known to be the crucial time of life. What

is being sown today is what shall be reaped later.

Education is where a student gets formed from. Education is in-fact

character building in students. A child learns from his home, school and

then from the society and thus every individual that a kid interacts,

influences his life later on. When students are being treated with due

respect and responsibility, they have also lived up to be responsible and

respect in return to the society. When being recognized, they have the

acceptance to work for a better society through hardships rather than giving

up in between.

Today, there are many activities that students take initiatives for the

betterment of the society. It is we who bring the good and bad out in our

students. We have seen how the youth stand as one against the negative

aspects like corruption, violence, terrorism and fight for the peace and

security of the nation. However we have also seen that there is a lack of

patriotism in the youth slowly coming up which destroys the harmony and

peace of the nation as well. Students act as bridges between two

generations. They need to realize and understand the circumstances today

and eliminate the bad and extract the good and implement it for the better

tomorrow.

If we do not mould our youth today, we may have to regret tomorrow as

tomorrow’s nation is in the hands of our upcoming youth and they in turn

would pass on what they have acquired in a better format to the forth

coming generations, thus enabling the nation to grow in all sectors and

make is one among the most powerful and harmonious nations of

tomorrow.
