November 18, 2011 Dear Park School Parents and Guardians, We are extremely proud of our continual growth in student achievement. One indicator of student growth is the Illinois Standards Achievement test (ISAT). Park students continue to show growth on many areas assessed by the ISAT. The 2010 Park School Report Card is now available for access on our school web site: http://ww2.d46.org/school-pc.asp. The report card can be viewed as a link to the Illinois Interactive Report Card. In the State of Illinois, students in 3rd through 8th grade are annually given the ISAT (Illinois Standards Achievement Test). The ISAT measures individual student achievement relative to the Illinois State Learning Standards. The results give parents, teachers, and schools one measure of student learning and school performance. Individual ISAT scores from the Spring of 2010 were distributed at conferences. For the purpose of organizing the large amount of assessment information, Park School Campus is listed as Park East School (3rd-4th) and Park West School (5th-8th). At Park School East, 85.5% of students met or exceeded standards in all subject areas. At Park School West, 87.4% of students met or exceeded standards in all subject areas. In addition to ISAT performance, we spend a significant amount of time analyzing data from a variety of other sources to plan instructional interventions to assist all students. Park School Campus Notes / Activities

District 46 Showdown: The 11th Annual District 46 Showdown resulted in a three-way tie! A hard fought game was played by all teams involved. The D46 Showdown consisted of three 20-minute games pitting Grayslake Middle School vs. Park Campus for the opening match, followed by Frederick School vs. GMS, and finally Park Campus vs. Frederick. Yearbooks: On-line Yearbook ordering information in now on our school website. We are encouraging as many parents as possible to use the on-line ordering feature as it will allow us to better track student orders. Yearbooks will cost $16 per copy until December 18, 2011. Please click on the following link: http://jostensyearbooks.com?REF=A01102972 K-4 Grade Recess Reminder: As the weather gets colder, please make sure your children have hats, gloves, snow pants, boots, and winter coats. As weather permits, we will have outdoor recess. The blacktop provides an area for students to play that are not dressed for the snow. We will be outside for recess unless the wind chill drops below zero degrees. PBIS Assembly: On Tuesday, 11/22 at 10:15, we will be hosting our first Positive Behavior Intervention and Support Assembly for the students of Park Campus. These assemblies are held each trimester and are usually separated into two separate assemblies for K-4 and 5-8. This assembly will be K-8. We encourage available parents to attend this and future assemblies.
