— Romans 6:11 ********************************************************************** CHRISTIAN HOSPITALITY Day in and day out, we are required to make judgment calls informed by tough, durable, serviceable Christian love. We do what we can do, and God takes notice. God is in charge of rewards, and a glass of water will do when that is what we have to offer with a glad and open heart. Paul gives us a clear theology for the missionary work we do whenever anybody is close at hand. He reminds us that our work, our ministry, is carried on in concert with Christ. We have been baptized into his death and life. In any given moment both life and death are there, a kind of play of shadow and light. Sometimes it’s difficult to tell where shadow leaves off and light begins. God will take care of that, too.

Please Note The New Mass Schedule Going Forward

Church Schedule for Private Prayer Monday – Friday Church will open at 11:30 for mass and remain open till 4pm with Eucharistic Adoration Saturday no private prayer time, mornings the church will open as needed for Funerals, Weddings, Baptisms. The church will open at 4:30 for 5pm mass and close afterwards. Mass Schedule The church will open half an hour before every mass

service. Daily Mass (Monday-Friday)- 12 Noon in the Church Saturday: 5pm in English (No Morning Mass) Sunday: 8am in English, 10am in English, 12 Noon in Spanish ***********************************************************************

PRAYER IN A TIME OF PANDEMIC O God of compassion,

your people are anxious in this time of pandemic.

Send your Holy Spirit among us to dispel our fears.

We cry out to you in our confusion; comfort us in our affliction.

Grant our leaders wisdom to guide us. Strengthen and sustain those who are ill,

and be with those who care for them. Help us to travel this road

in solidarity with our neighbors, with our eyes fixed on the salvation

promised us through the death and resurrection of your Son,

who is Lord forever and ever. Amen.

My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacra-mentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.

HOSPITALIDAD CRISTIANA En todo momento se requiere de nosotros que hagamos decisiones para la acción, informadas por el amor cristiano que es difícil, duradero y útil. Hacemos lo que podemos, y Dios presta atención. Dios se encarga de las recompensas, y un vaso de agua es suficiente cuando es lo que podemos proporcionar con corazón abierto y alegre. Pablo nos da una teología clara para el trabajo misionero que hacemos cuando alguien está cerca. Nos recuerda que nuestro trabajo, nuestro ministerio, se cumple en coordinación con Cristo. Hemos sido bautizados en su muerte y en su vida. A cada momento, tanto la vida como la muerte están presentes, un juego de intercambio entre sombra y luz. A veces, es difícil diferenciar el margen entre la luz y la sombra. Pero, Dios se encargará de esto, también. ************************************************************************

SAN IRENEO (c. 130-200) 28 de junio Irineo nació en Esmirna, al occidente de Turquía. Desde joven fue discípulo de Policarpo, quien a su vez fue discípulo del apóstol Juan. Su vinculación a la Iglesia apostólica es directa y eso lo manifestó en su ministerio como obispo y escritor. En sus obras Contra los herejes, se preocupó no tanto por atacar a quienes tenían un concepto erróneo de la Iglesia y los misterios de la fe, sino de preservar la autenticidad de la fe cristiana predicada por los apóstoles. Una de las herejías que atacó fue la de los gnósticos, un grupo de cristianos que afirmaban que la salvación sólo venía por un conocimiento especial de Dios, disponible sólo para unos cuantos. Ireneo, además de maestro fue un gran pacificador, pues concilió las tensiones entre oriente y occidente en lo referente a la celebración de la Pascua, en la primera luna llena de la primavera. Movido por la necesidad, aprende los idiomas de la región de Francia y Alemania y va allá como su obispo, en medio de la persecución, donde a la postre, murió como mártir. ***************************************************************

La iglesia abrirá a las 4:30 para la misa de las 5 pm y cerrará después. Horario de Misas Las puertas de la iglesia abrirán media hora antes de cada misa. Misa diaria (lunes-viernes) - 12 del mediodía en la Iglesia Sábado: 5pm en Inglés (No habrá misa en la mañana) Domingo: 8am en inglés, 10 am en inglés, 12 mediodía español

Food Pantry

Our Food Pantry is open every Thursday from 8:00 to 10:00am, to assist any parishioner that is in need of food. To register please bring a NYC Benefit card.

Please Note: The Secure Food Deposit Box…

Located in the front lobby of our church on the Rectory side. Please deposit all dry food (pasta, rice, beans, cans and bottles) there. This will assist us in securing that your food donations go directly to the needy.

The 2020 Annual Catholic Appeal supports the daily work of our Church throughout Brooklyn and

Queens in ways no one parish can accomplish alone by supporting the following

ministries:

Catholic Youth Ministry Initiative, Catholic Charities;

Hospital, College and Prison Chaplains; Diocesan Vocations Office;

Catholic Migration Services; Office of Faith Formation; Bishop Mugavero Residence for infirmed

clergy; Futures in Education Scholarship Foundation

All donations made to the ACA above our parish goal are returned directly back to our parish for opera-

tions and improvements.
