Papa Murphy’s Provides Military Incentive Programs

In America today, there are over 21.4 million veterans in the United States, according to the U.S. Department of Defense, making up an astounding 9 percent of the U.S. population. Although many of these citizens have extensive military careers, many others choose to serve less time and to enter the work force once they are no longer active.

Despite their bravery and courage, the post 9/11 veteran community suffers from an above-average unemployment rate compared to other veterans and the national average. Of the veterans who have served in the U.S. military since Sept. 11, 2001, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that 9 percent are unemployed. This can be compared to the national veteran unemployment rate that stands at 6.6 percent and the general U.S. unemployment rate that falls at 6.1 percent according to the BLS.

After serving in the military, many veterans are finding it challenging to find full-time and long-term jobs for numerous reasons, such as an increased rate of disability compared the national average, minimal previous work experience outside of the military and intricate licensing contracts. Military veterans commonly limit themselves by looking into the corporate workplace, not realizing that there is a unique opportunity that is a great fit for them.

Military veterans are very well-suited to become franchise owners.

Veterans tend to have a good sense of autonomy, self-initiation and leadership skills that are necessary for franchise business ownership. Luckily, for these entrepreneurial-minded veterans, many franchise brands today offer incentive programs to help get veterans acclimated into their roles as franchise owners and setting them up for success.

Papa Murphy’s Franchise Rewarding Veterans with IncentivesRealizing this common trouble among the veteran population, Papa Murphy’s franchise is rewarding these valiant individuals who were brave enough to fight for our country by providing 3-year military franchise incentives royalty program.

The first year of the program, the new franchisees’ royalty rate payable to the franchisor totals 2 percent of the business’ net sales. In the franchise owner’s second year, this rate rises to 3 percent, and in the final year the rate rises to 4 percent. At the end of the three years and for the remainder of the franchise agreement, the royalty fee then moves to the current rate of the Franchise Agreement. Decreasing the royalty rate for veteran franchisees allows them to initially put more money back into their business to facilitate future growth rather than having to pay that money to their franchisor.
