man who ga#e us this magnificent conference center.

This award is particularly meaningful to me $ because

the !aw 'chool is so meaningful to me.

This institution $ and college pales by comparison $

contributed the most to any success + may ha#e had.

ecause here + learned $ among many other things/

To delight in and aspire to true e0pertise

To always be prepared $ preferably a bit ahead

To remain poised e#en when terrified, angry, or under

    fire

To analyze e#erything with a relentless, hypercritical

mind $ to tease out e#ery issue $ and to sweat e#en the

    small ones

To spend twice as much time thinking and organizing my

thoughts as writing them down or speaking about them

To simplify a comple0 problem into a clear solution and

    an e#en clearer e0planation

To organize a seemingly impossible workload into

discrete steps, prioritize them, and accomplish them one

    at a time

To read with e0treme care . . . to listen with e#en more

care . . . to write and edit with e01uisite care

    To think in solitude . . . but sol#e comple0 problems in

    teams

To #alue personal and professional relationships and

    work hard to maintain them

And to recognize the importance of gi#ing back to the

!aw 'chool $ whether financially or with my time $ asgenerously as possible $ and more to the !aw 'chool $

to &enn $ than to any other organization

'o thank you again for this award. ut as + hope you
