FROM THE DESK

On behalf of the Management committee and volunteers we

wish a very happy Christmas and new year to all of you. While

Christmas is celebrated around the world 25th

December holds

a special significance for Pakistan as we remember Quaid e

Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah (founder of the nation). He was

born on 25th

December 1876 and the day is celebrated with

special events and seminars to acknowledge the father of the

nation.

Australia Day project is going ahead as planned. The

contribution by a member to install a water pump has been

transferred to Children Health and Education Foundation and

as soon as it will be installed, members will be notified of its

place. Fatima has also arrived in Islamabad to provide the

donations received to the school in Sialkot.

We are in receipt of greetings from organisations and

dignitaries. The ones received electronically are reproduced on

the following pages.

And just a reminder that the Annual General Meeting of the

group is scheduled for 24th

January at 46 Kanangra Crescent,

Greenwood at 6.00 pm.

COMMUNITY UPDATES

EVENT IN FEBRUARY

The Pakistani community members are planning an event to mark the anniversary of Chaudhry

Rahmat Ali another freedom pioneer whose name is synonym with Pakistan as he is the creator of the

name that we feel so proud to be associated with. The venue and date will be confirmed soon. Please

mark Ist/2ndFeb tentatively in your diaries.

ECCWA WOMENS SUBCOMMITTEE MEETING: 10 AM

The meeting is scheduled for 24thJanuary followed by morning tea to celebrate Australia Day. The

discussion will be mainly around International Womens Day celebration on 8thMarch
