FROM THE DESKYou are receiving this newsletter a bit earlier as a reminder to the

documentary screening on Sunday at Australian Asian Association.

This is a joint venture of the Multicultural Services Centre of Western

Australia, Sanskriti Seniors Association of Indian Origin and our

group. The Indian Consul General along with the director Anita Barar

will also be attending the screening. We plan to serve light

refreshment at 5.30 just before the screening which will commence

    at 5.50 pm.

The Group now has its own ABN number and is registered for GST as

well as we also have the bank account. Thanks to our treasurer.

The group has also received invitation to the community awards

event in two weeks time and at this moment we are also working on

    two grant proposals.

We also have been assisting a couple of AusAID scholarshipapplicants during last month who have been in contact with us from

    Pakistan.

Our next project will possibly be participating in The Biggest

Australian Morning Tea in the month of May, so if you have any

suggestions for the venue or would like to contribute snacks and

savories to raise funds for Cancer research please do come forward

and join hands with fellow Australians.

    REMEMBERING MINHAS ZULFIQAR

It was indeed very sad and shocking to hear of Mr. Minhas Zulfiqars demise in the hand of criminals who have

destroyed the peace in Pakistan. Mr. Zulfiqar (RIP) was visiting Pakistan after performing Umrah with his wife.

Little he knew that this will be his last visit to the homeland. Mrs. Zulfiqar( it is very difficult to pronounce her as

the widow) is now back in Sydney. The community in general and specifically in NSW is still coming to terms. SB

Urdu Service broadcasted a special feature remembering him and his close friend Syed Zafar Hussain shared the

memories that he now treasures so fondly. A number of prominent figures have sent their condolence messages

which are available athttp://www.sadaewatansydney.com. Our heartiest condolences to the family.
