• These are existing taxincentives offered to variousindustries and promotedactivities

• These incentives are enactedin the Promotion ofInvestments Act (PIA) 1986 aswell as through various gazetteorders pursuant to Section 127of Income Tax Act

• Common ones are PioneerStatus, Investment TaxAllowance (ITA), ReinvestmentAllowance (RA) etc

• Investors with strategic andcatalytic projects may apply forcustomised incentives.

• These projects must have highvalue propositions and cangenerate significant economiclinkages to the local economy

• Value propositions include:‐ develop or bring in new ormerging technologies whichwill add value to existingactivities‐ employment of knowledgeworkers including training‐invest significant capitalinvestment‐ other areas which will helpbring the Malaysian economyto a high value economy

• Investments in targeted 6‐services based clusters,approved developers andapproved developmentmanagers
