JOURNAL NEWS Circulation: Heart Failure, Lippincott Williams & Wilkins Circulation: Heart Failure is the resource for critical, high-quality, clinically relevant articles focusing on observational studies, clinical trials, epidemiology, and advances in applied (translational) research related to heart failure. You can rely on the coverage of topics such as new drug and device therapies, as well as papers illuminating the pathophysiology in human and translational models. In addition to original articles, a robust review series—focusing on advances, development of therapeutics, and controversies—will be complemented by special sections such as book reviews, case studies, letters to the editor, imaging and case reports, and additional features, providing a worldwide forum for all professionals interested in the study of and patient management for heart failure. This will NOT be available on LWW’s Total Access journal collection. The Patient: Patient-Centered Outcomes Research, Adis International This quarterly publication is the first academic journal in medicine to present solely the patient’s perspective. It will seek to publish research to help advance a medical environment where patients are not just subjects but part of the scientific process.

“The Patient” seeks to be an international forum devoted to publishing research on patient-centered medicine. It addresses the growing concern that modern medicine has failed to adequately satisfy the needs of its most important stakeholder, the patient. In an era of managed care and cost-containment, current trends in medicine are being driven primarily by the needs and wants of healthcare payers. Even in academic medicine, new therapies are often studied in terms of their risks and benefits, measures that are chosen by physicians and researchers, often without the involvement of patients.

It is aimed at the international medical and health communities and serves researchers and scientists, and professionals in the government, regulatory, insurance and pharmaceutical industry.
