1. LEARN HOW TO LEAD. If you dont know how, find out.2. To be conscious that you are ignorant of the facts is a
great way to knowledge.
3. What is you plan for personal growth? Ask other leaders
about leadership.4. Recognize your lack of skill ad begin a daily DISAPLINE
of personal growth.
5. You can rely on your instincts and process.

He would undermined his executives and always looked over theirshoulders. Many executives left.
Henry Ford II Ford hadn't make profits in 15 years, losing $1 million a
day
Ford II brought in top leaders form rival companies, the company profitsskyrocketed.

Trust is the Foundation of Leadership
To build trust a leader must show 3 Qualities:
Competence
Connection Character
People will forgive occasional mistakes based onability, but not slips in character.
Charactermakes trust possible. And trust makes leadership
possible.(Maxwell, p. 57)
#6 THE LAW OF SOLID GROUNDKey Highlights & Ideas
-

People naturally followleaders who are
stronger thanthemselves.
If people do not have trustin you as a leader, they willnot respect you nor want to
follow you.
People naturallyfollow leaders stronger than themselves.
(Maxwell, p. 65)
#7 THE LAW OF RESPECTKey Highlights & Ideas
-
8/3/2019 Our Presentation 1028 1143pm-Final
22/51
There are different forms and levels of respect:
When people respect someone as a person, they admirehim. When they respect him as a friend, they love him. When they respect him as a leader, they follow him.
People dont follow others by accident. They follow
individuals whose leadership they respect. The more leadership ability a person has, the more
quickly he recognizes leadership-or the lack of it-inothers.
I had a right to, liberty or death. If I could not have one, I
would have theother-Harriet Tubman

Leadership intuition separates the greatest leaders
from the ones who are merely good.
Leaders see everything with a leadership bias, andas a result they instinctively know what to do.
Everyone is capable of developing a degree ofleadership intuition. No one starts at the sameplace.
Leaders evaluate everything with a leadership bias.
(Maxwell, p. 79)

Birds of a feather flock together.
Common grounds you share with the people whofollow you: Attitude
Generation
Background Values
Life experience
Leadership ability
Who you are is who you attract.(Maxwell, p. 89)
#9 THE LAW OF MAGNETISMKey Highlights & Ideas
-
8/3/2019 Our Presentation 1028 1143pm-Final
26/51
The stronger the relationship and connection between
individuals, the more likely the follower will want to helpthe leader.
Six keys to connection: Personal authenticity
Relationship
Approachability
Mutual respect
Belief in people
Meaning and depth
Leaders touch a heart before they ask for a hand.
(Maxwell, p. 99)
#10 THE LAW OF CONNECTIONKey Highlights & Ideas
-
8/3/2019 Our Presentation 1028 1143pm-Final
27/51
A leaders best friend is momentum. If a leader has all the passion, tools, and people he
needs to fulfill a vision, yet he has no momentum theleader wont be able to get his organization moving andgoing in the right direction.
When a leader has no momentum, even the simplesttask seem impossible. The future appears dark, andmorale becomes low.
If momentum is on a leaders side the future looksbright, obstacle appear small. Ex: When a basketballteam gets on a roll, every play seems to work. Everyshot seems to score, the team seams to do nothingwrong.
#16 THE LAW OF THE BIG MOKey Highlights & Ideas
-
8/3/2019 Our Presentation 1028 1143pm-Final
28/51
Because momentum has a great impact leaders try tocontrol it.
Momentum also has the tendency to make leaders look
better than they are.
When leadership is strong and there is momentum in anorganization, people are motivated and inspired toperform at higher levels.

Leaders never reach a point where they no longer needto prioritize. Its something that good leaders must
keep doing, no matter how big there organization is.
The author uses the three Rs to evaluate his priorities. His three Rs are requirement, return, and reward.
What is required?
A list of priorities must begin with what is requiredEx: What must I do that nobody can or should do forme?
#17 THE LAW OF PRIORITIESKey Highlights & Ideas
-
8/3/2019 Our Presentation 1028 1143pm-Final
30/51
What gives the greatest Return?A leader should spend most of his/her time working in his/herareas of strength. People are more productive and morecontent when their work is within their natural gifting and
strengths.
What brings the greatest Reward?A leader must also priorities what gives him/her the best rewardnot only in their business life but also their personal life.
Successful leaders live accordingly to the Law of Priorities. Theyrecognize that activity is not necessarily accomplishment. But thebest leaders seem to be able to get the Law of Priorities to workfor them by satisfying multiple priorities with each activity.
-

The Law of Sacrifice demands that the greater theleader, the more he must give up. For example MartinLuther King, was a great leader he was arrested and
jailed in many occasions. He was stoned, stabbed, andphysically attacked. His house was bombed. Yet hisvision and influence continued to increase.
Common misconceptions among people who arentleaders that leadership is all about the position, perks, and power that come from rising in a organization.
#18 THE LAW OF SACRIFICEKey Highlights & Ideas
-
8/3/2019 Our Presentation 1028 1143pm-Final
32/51
The life of a leader might look glamorous from theoutside, but reality is that leadership requires sacrifice.Leaders must give up to go up. There is no success
without sacrifice.Leaders have to give up more than others in the
organization. The heart of leadership is putting othersahead of you, and doing whats best for the team.
Huge problems occur when leaders think they earnedthe right to stop making sacrifices. Sacrifice is aongoing process and not a one time payment.
-

33/51
Good leaders recognize that when to lead is asimportant as what to do and where to go.
Timing is often the difference between success and
failure in an endeavor.
A leader who takes the wrong action at the wrong timeis sure to suffer negative repercussions. For examplethe mayor of New Orleans as Katrina approached.
#19 THE LAW OF TIMINGKey Highlights & Ideas
-
8/3/2019 Our Presentation 1028 1143pm-Final
34/51
The right action at the wrong time brings resistance, and may be
unsuccessful, while the wrong action at the right time is a mistake.
Good leadership timing requires many things:
Understanding-leaders must have a firm grasp on the situation. Maturity-if leaders motives arent right, their timing will be off.
Confidence-people follow leaders who know what must be done.
Decisiveness-wishy-washy leaders create wishy-washy followers
Experience-if leaders dont posses experience, then they need togain wisdom from others who do posses it.
Intuition-timing often depends on intangibles, such as momentum andmorale
Preparation-if the conditions arent right, leaders must create those
conditions.

The law of explosive growth means to add growth, leadfollowers-to multiply, lead leaders.
If you develop leaders, your organization can achieveexplosive growth.
Good leaders lead for the sake of their followers and forwhat they can leave behind.
#20 THE LAW OF EXPLOSIVE GROWTHKey Highlights & Ideas
-
8/3/2019 Our Presentation 1028 1143pm-Final
36/51
Proactive leaders who practice the law of explosivegrowth choose the top 20 percent of their organizationwith the greatest leadership potential, and they invest
their time developing them. The leaders know if theydevelop the best, the best will help the rest.
Leaders that dont practice the law of explosive growth
tend to attract followers. The leaders, who attractfollowers, need to be needed. Leaders, who developleaders, want to be succeeded.

Leaders must know the legacy they want to leavebehind. They should write their life summary and notsomeone else.
Leaders should also live the legacy they want to leavebehind. They should live what they say they believe.
The Law of Legacy states that succession is one of thekey responsibilities of leadership.
The Law of Legacy also states that no matter how wellyou lead or how good your successor is, if you dont
make sure you pass the baton, you will not leave thelegacy you desire.
