Thank you for your support for this important ministry. Free prayer cards are available next to the newspapers. DATA PROTECTION The Diocese has now produced a form that they would like you to fill in, so that you can be contacted by the parish and your agreement kept on file. Forms are available at the back of the church on the table. LIVING FAITH BOOKLETS For July, August and September are still available in the church porch - there a few books remaining near the newspapers. LOURDES PETITIONS Ann Nandi has offered to take petitions to Lourdes as a thank you to the parish for their support of Youth to Lourdes. Please place your petitions in the box on top of the hymn book case and the closing date for petitions will be Saturday 21 st July, at the end of the 6pm Mass. GUEST ORGANIST We will have Calvin, who has played at numerous funerals in the church with us for the next 2 Sundays at the 10am Mass. This is a trial period both for him and ourselves and he may return to play on a more regular basis in our church from September onwards. RECENTLY DECEASED I am sorry to say that Tony Flatley has passed away. He was a big campaigner for the services at Prince Phillip hospital and a regular at the 10am Mass on Sundays. His funeral will take place at Llanelli Crematorium on Wednesday 25 th July at 2pm. Everyone is welcome to attend. May he rest in peace. DAY ON THE EUCHARIST On Saturday 8 th September in Liverpool Echo Arena. Tickets are available priced £43.50 each and can be ordered online. Bishop Robert Barron from Los Angeles will be the main speaker. See the poster on the board more details/how to order tickets. St. Mary’s School This week we welcomed new Nursery pupils and parents for a taster day before they start in September. Years 1 and 2 went to Oxwich Beach to explore the rockpools as part of their topic 'Wriggle and Crawl.' On Wednesday evening our Year 5 pupils attended the book launch for our enterprise project 'Discovering Dylan Thomas' at the Dylan Thomas Theatre, Swansea. The whole school enjoyed an end of year disco to celebrate the completion of the school year. It was organised by our PTA and lots of fun was had by all. Our Year 6 class completed their end of year production for families, friends and fellow peers. The pupils in Year 6 enjoyed a night out after the performance. They shared a meal and had a fun game of bowling! St. John Lloyd School On Tuesday we hosted the Eden bus and pupils from years 7 and 8 all had a session about being ‘Children of God’. After school the Eden bus also held a youth club on site which a number of pupils attended. We had visits from people in business, who conducted mock interviews with year 10 pupils. We were also visited by a film crew who were recording work in the maths department as part of a Welsh government project on excellence in Maths teaching. Wednesday was the summer reward trip day with visits to Bristol zoo, Oakwood and Drayton Manor and on Friday we formally marked the retirement of Jo Austin and Christine Staphnill after decades of service to Catholic education and to the school.
