Do you ever watch those survival shows? People dumped in the middle of nowhere and are asked to survive for a time. At some point in most of them, as they struggle to make ire to purify the water, the narrator comes on and says, “You can only survive without water for 3 days.” Or something like that?
This is where we ind the Israelite people today. They left the Red Sea behind them and started wandering around the desert. Of course, they ran out of water, they could only carry so much, and they started to get worried. Their physical needs derailed their trust in God.
The Samaritan woman at the well had her physical need for water met, but her interior need for love was off course. She was thirsty for love and kept looking in the wrong place. She speaks about her ancestors worshiping God, but it’s clear her relationship with God has derailed.
God had a temporary solution for the Israelite people, and they lived out their lives here on earth. God has a permanent plan for all His followers who are searching to ill that thirstiness inside, like the Samaritan woman. All we have to do is open our hearts to Him and ask for that living water. The lood of God’s love, grace, mercy will low out and quench every thirst inside for eternity.

Thank you to all the parishioners and San Clemente community for helping to save lives with the American Red Cross. 31 pints of lifesaving blood were collected. Each pint can save up to 3 lives—93 lives have been or will be saved due to your donation! 7 irst time donors were also registered. Save the date for our next blood drive for August 30, 2020.

FAM Monthly Donation Update
Thank you OLF parishioners for your generosity! 862 lbs of nonperishable food, toiletries, clothing, and baby food were donated to FAM in the month of February. We also received books, household items, and a monetary dona-tion. Your donations allow FAM/Family Assistance Ministries to ful ill the most critical needs on a daily basis for indi-viduals and families in need. Currently FAM is running low on the following items: peanut butter, canned beans, canned vegetables, rice, canned tuna, canned fruits, spaghetti noodles, spa-ghetti sauce, soups, macaroni and cheese, cereal, diapers size 5 & 6, and baby wipes. ¿Alguna vez has visto esos programas de supervivencia? Gente abandonada en el medio de la nada y se les pide que sobrevivan por un tiempo. En algun momento la mayorıa de ellos, mientras luchan por hacer fuego para puri icar el agua, el narrador aparece y dice: "Solo puedes sobrevivir sin agua durante 3 dıas". ¿O algo ası?
Aquı es donde encontramos al pueblo Israelita hoy. Dejaron el Mar Rojo detras de ellos y comenzaron a deambular por el desierto. Por supuesto, se quedaron sin agua, solo podıan cargar poco y comenzaron a preocuparse. Sus necesidades fısicas descarrilaron su con ianza en Dios.
La mujer samaritana en el pozo tenıa su necesidad fısica de agua la cual fue saciada, pero su necesidad interior de amor estaba fuera de curso. Tenıa sed de amor y seguıa buscando en el lugar equivocado. Ella habla sobre sus antepasados adorando a Dios, pero esta claro que su relacion con Dios se descarrilo.
Dios tenıa una solucion temporal para el pueblo Israelita, y ellos vivieron sus vidas aquı en la tierra. Dios tiene un plan permanente para todos sus seguidores que buscan llenar esa sed interior, como la mujer samaritana. Todo lo que tenemos que hacer es abrir nuestros corazones a El y pedirle esa agua viva. La inundacion del amor, la gracia y la misericordia de Dios luira y saciara toda sed interior por la eternidad.
