School Photos
A final reminder for our school photos this Friday, students need to be wearing full winter uniform. Please ensure that your child’s uniform is clean, shoes polished and hair done neatly. If your child is wearing hair accessories, please make sure they match with our school uniform, no big coloured bows. Payment
envelopes need to be returned to the office as soon as possible please.
Attendance
Regular attendance at school for every student is essential if students are to achieve their potential. Schools, in partnerships with parents, are responsible for promoting the regular attendance of students. Occasional absences due to illness are unavoidable, however, frequent absences can impact learning. Arriving at school on time and ready to learn each day is also very important, please have a look at the information below which is a helpful reminder from the Department of Education.
Breakfast Club
We have been continuing this term with our trial of breakfast club each morning Monday – Thursday. It’s important for every child to eat something nutritious each morning to re-fuel for the busy day ahead. Did you know that eating breakfast has been linked with improved English and Maths skills in school children? Children who have eaten breakfast can concentrate better and have a longer attention span, helping them to learn better. We would like to hear your thoughts and suggestions on breakfast club, this can be done by completing a quick google form at the following link; https://forms.gle/tA58UaieXP7ygceT9.

Parenting Ideas This weeks topic is:
Sleep Tips for Kids
Sleep is a critical component of enhancing a child’s
wellbeing, learning and development and overall
performance. The right amount of quality sleep will
ensure that their brain and body are being used at full
capacity.
Helping kids understand how their body clock works,
assisting them to work out their optimal bedtime
and putting lifestyle and sleep hygiene habits in place
can help them get the sleep they need to rest,
recuperate and flourish. You can find some tips to help
in the attached article.
Have you used your free Parenting Ideas voucher
to access the Understanding Techno Tantrums
Webinar yet?
Instructions on accessing the voucher are included in
this newsletter.
Mudgee Respiratory Clinic
Our local Medical Centre has recently developed a child
friendly booklet “Going to the Mudgee Respiratory
Clinic” which may be of use if your child is feeling
unwell and needs to attend the clinic. It helps to explain
what happens once you get there and some things to
do if your child is feeling nervous. If you think this may
be useful for your family please contact the school
office to arrange a copy.
I would also like to remind parents in the case of your child needing to be tested for COVID-19, please contact the office to advise that your child has been tested and
keep them at home until you have received their results. Michelle Neaverson - Smith Principal
