Filming ‘The Breakfast Club’

Overview• Filming ‘The Breakfast Club’ opening sequence was an

enjoyable task but also took a lot of planning and thinking, because we did not have the amount of money to spend on props and locations like the original film did.

• As we are teenagers we were not able to get real cars to film in, so we used our classroom to, and a fig rig as a steering wheel. Also we used toy cars and made them seem real by having them close to the camera. Also as we were filming on a weekday the premises was not empty and so we had to shoot our footage very quickly in order to make it seem as if the college was empty, like it would be on a Saturday.

Cast• In the original sequence there

are a variety of characters, however we did not have the same amount of actors and actresses to play the roles, so we played more than one character.

• I played the roles of the princess’ dad, the brains and the athlete.

• Kris played the brain’s sister, the criminal and the basket case.

• Shannon played the princess, the brain’s mum, the athlete’s mum.
