Catalysts for Change players imagined the potential to sell large machinery
in maker kits—along with training on how to build them—blending the IKEA model
with the maker paradigm, while adding some capacity-building into the mix.

Open Source Ecology has designed a Global Village Construction Set that contains tools and instructions to build basic machinery commonly used when creating new settlements. They plan to create kits for the 50 most useful industrial machines.

Appropedia is an open wiki set up to collect “collaborative solutions in sustainability, poverty reduction and international development through the use of sound principles and appropriate technology and the sharing of wisdom and project information.”
