“God shapes the world by prayer. The more prayer there is in the world the better the world will be, the mightier the forces of against evil …” E.M. Bounds “"0h brother, pray; in spite of Satan, pray; spend hours in prayer; rather neglect friends than not pray; rather fast, and lose breakfast, dinner, tea, and supper - and sleep too - than not pray. And we must not talk about prayer, we must pray in right earnest.” Andrew Bonar

"Satan trembles when he sees the weakest Christian on his knees." William Cowper "Prayer will make a man cease from sin, or sin will entice a man to cease from prayer." John Bunyon

"We have to pray with our eyes on God, not on the difficulties." Oswald Chambers "The true church lives and moves and has its being in prayer." Leonard Ravenhill

"We must begin to believe that God, in the mystery of prayer, has entrusted us with a force that can move the Heavenly world, and can bring its power down to earth." Andrew Murray “What the church needs today is not more machinery or better, not new organizations or more novel methods, but men whom the Holy Ghost can use— men of prayer, men mighty in prayer" E.M. Bounds "There is no power like that of prevailing prayer, of Abraham pleading for Sodom, Jacob wrestling in the stillness of the night, Moses standing in the breach, Hannah intoxicated with sorrow, David heartbroken with remorse and grief, Jesus in sweat of blood. Add to this list from the records of the church your personal observation and experience, and always there is the cost of passion unto blood. Such prayer prevails. It turns ordinary mortals into men of power. It brings power. It brings fire. It brings rain. It brings life. It brings God." Samuel Chadwick

Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! (Psalm 95:2) PERSONAL GUIDE: Spend time thanking God for WHO He is… God, Father, Holy, Righteous, Just, Merciful, Loving. Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting! (Psalms 139:23-24) PERSONAL GUIDE: Ask the Lord to search your heart for known and un-known sin. Listen to the Spirit. Are there actions, thoughts, fears, worry, de-sires, ambitions that aren’t of the Lord? Then confess your lack of faith and lay them on Jesus Who has paid for those sins by His blood of the cross. FAMILY GUIDE: Spend time confessing attitudes and actions that have hurt each other in your family. Ask one another for forgiveness and GIVE for-giveness freely as you take all of those wrongs and sins to Jesus for for-giveness and freedom.
