Thanksgiving is upon us and another year has quickly slipped in to the past. It seems each successive year is a little shorter than the previous one. Although we have more free time than ever before, we struggle to accomplish all of the things we want to get done.

While I can’t speak for anyone else, I know that my list of things I would like to see and do has grown dramatically. In the past, my “to-do” list was dictated by the military, my family, bills, college and the like. Now, my list is managed by imagination

So there are no limits on what I can be tasked to do!Each of us has watched someone close to us pass away without chasing their

dreams. People work and toil to save up their money and one day they are going to “take that trip” or “buy that motorhome” (fill in the blank with your future plans).

2004 and 2005 were tough years for us. We buried 13 close family members and it was more than I thought I could stand. Tammy and I decided that we were not willing to wait any more for anything.

It didn’t matter if we didn’t keep the yard mowed anymore. The grass would still be there when we returned home. That is when we decided to do all that we could to enjoy our lives and see this beautiful country that we call home.

We have traveled about 190,000 miles in our coaches over the past 12 years. We have met some of the most fascinating people that you could imagine. People from every walk of life are out there enjoying themselves and I want to keep doing that as well.

We are thankful for the many blessings that God has given us. We are healthy and have the resources to travel this great land. The friends we have made are among our most precious gifts.

One morning I was saying my prayers and thought to myself, “Why is it some people have so much and others so little?” That small voice spoke the answer in my mind, “People will always receive more when they are thankful for what they have!”

This Thanksgiving is truly a time to reflect and count our blessings. Reach out to a friend you having spoken with in a while. Call a family member that you haven’t heard from. Consider how blessed you are just to be able to read and understand what is going on around you!

Every day is a gift and another chance to turn the stumbling blocks into stepping stones. There will always be challenges but they will push you to higher ground. Please don’t think you know God’s will for another. Just be thankful for who you are, what you have and blossom where you are planted! The choice is always yours.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We hope to see you down the road!Rick and Tammy Toalson

CCI 2017 RalliesHere is the 2017 SCHEdUlE.

CCI is in the early planning phase on next year’s schedule, Rally locations, and event themes. We are currently working

with SECC & the Nor’Easters as well as all three host sites. More information will be available in upcoming issues of the eNews.

February 19-24, 2017Tampa, Florida

LazyDays TampaTechnical Issues & Tech Seminars

CCI Snowbirds and Members from all over the East will gather. As a beloved Florida RV park, Lazydays RV Resort will be our motorhome paradise. The facility has just what you need to feel right at home. You’ll find incredible amenities to relax and unwind, or enjoy fun activities that your Club is developing. In addition, you’ll find exceptional pet-friendly accommodations - your pet is welcome to go everywhere you go, except the onsite restaurants. Some of the activities planned include taking the Frank Lloyd Wright tour at Florida College and a bus tour of Tampa, St Pete, with a stop for lunch in Tarpon Springs.

July 6-11, 2017Columbus, Indiana“Vendors Galore”

Planning has begun with the Newmar International FMCA Chapter for a joint Rally. We also expect vendors and tech talks. The FMCA National Rally is in Indianapolis immediately following this Rally.

End of September, 2017Williamsburg, Virginia

“We Salute the Military Services”Join CCI, SECC & the Nor’Easters for a unique pair of Rallies. SECC is pleased to offer a mini Rally

in Virginia Beach September 22-26. This is a “Pre Action Calibration*” rally before the combined CCI, SECC and Nor’Easters Rally in Williamsburg, VA. The highlight of the joint event will be attending the Air Museum where they restore and fly all their antique airplanes. It is also the week-end when an an-tique car show is held in a Fair-like setting. “Vintage Cars and Vintage Airplanes” How good does it get?

Immediately following the Pre-Calibration Rally in Virginia Beach is the combined rally in the Historic Triangle of Virginia beginning September 26 and ending October 3. We are planning tours to Williams-burg, Yorktown, Yorktown Battlefield, and Jamestown. There will be time for everyone to have a chance to do and visit many other attractions the area has to offer.

* Pre Action Calibration is a Navy (and NATO) term for warming up your guns before firing for real. In NATO terms it also means a pre-reception social for commanding officers.

Hello Everyone;

Wow! Simply cannot believe that Thanksgiving is knocking on our door and Christmas is right around the corner! I trust your fall season has been a good one and that you’re travels have been fun and without (too many) challenges.

As you know we had nearly 60 coaches at our joint CCI/Southeast-er’s Rally in Lexington Kentucky and now Tammy Toalson and the rest of the board are busy planning our 2017 events. If you’ve not attended a rally in a while, we ask you to se-riously considered getting at least one on your schedule for 2017. Look for the exciting line up elsewhere in the newsletter. I’d like to officially

welcome our new and continuing Board Members. We have an excel-lent group of dedicated volunteers that have a passion for Country Coach Motorhomes and the family of people that own them – it’s the great relationships that count and our CCI Board is committed to providing in-formation and events that perpetu-ate fun experiences with our CC’s.

As I mentioned last month, we welcome your ideas on how CCI can continue to serve you, just drop me a note with any of your thoughts. Wishing you a very Blessed Thanks-giving full of great food, family and fun!

Mike Sowers, CCI President

Your BoardFrom the seCretArYby eric Arnold

Hello all! I hope everyone is well.Who’s ready for some turkey?

I know I have my hand raised up high and my stomach is eagerly awaiting a feast. So many traditions and people’s priorities have changed through the years but at least Thanks-giving is still a time when we all can come togeth-er with our friends and family and give thanks for all that is important to us.

You may have noticed that the Club has some new Board members, well same names but in dif-ferent positions. CCI held elections at the end of September for half of the Board and Mike Sowers is the new club President. Tammy Toalson is the new Treasurer, Buddy Bordes is the new VP for

Membership, Tammy Toalson continues as the VP Rallies, and Gerry Conway has a new position as the Historian/Parliamentarian. Eric Arnold volunteered and Mike Sowers appointed him to be the FMCA National Director. Many thanks to these individuals for volunteering to serve on the CCI Board but new participation and new ideas are always welcome. Remember that half of the Board is up for election each year so if you have a little bit of free time and the desire to help with the future of Country Coach International please give some thought to volunteering and running for a position on the Board. You also get to work with a great group of people!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Eric Arnold

desktop Faxing solutionsLet’s start with the Fax and Scan utility built into Windows Vista, Windows 7, 8 and 10. To start Fax and

Scan, click Start, type WFS, and press Enter. If Fax and Scan is not installed on your system, click Start, Control Panel, Programs, Turn Windows Features On Or Off, then Print And Document Services. Check the box next to Windows Fax and Scan and click OK to install Windows Fax and Scan services. Note that Fax and Scan is only available on the Business and Ultimate editions of Vista, not Vista Home Edition. If you’re still running Win-dows XP, see How to enable and configure the fax service in Windows XP. All modern versions of Mac OS have fax sending capability built in.

You can send a fax using a standard fax modem, which most computers have. Just plug your phone line into the telephone jack on the back of your computer, and you should be good to go. Windows Fax and Scan lets you compose a text-only fax on the fly, or you can send any file, such as a Word document, a spreadsheet, a photo, or a scanned page to a remote fax machine. Cover pages are also easy to create with this program. On a Mac, open the document, click File/Print, click the PDF button, then choose “Fax PDF” from the pop-up menu. Unfor-tunately, most newer Macs do not have an internal modem, so the online fax solution may be the only option.

Third-party fax software for Windows is preferred by some users, and some of these programs offer features that Windows Fax and Scan lacks. Electrasoft offers a shareware program that can print incoming faxes, forward them to your email inbox, or use your cellular phone to send a fax. Snappy Fax 2000 can filter out unwanted junk faxes. There are plenty of free and low-cost fax programs with different features to suit every taste.

Included in this mailing are the results of FMCA’s Nominating Committee election for the 2017-2019 term, and the minutes from the board meetings that were held in October 2016 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

You will also find a request from FMCA’s Nominating Committee to nominate candidates for FMCANational President, National Senior Vice President, National Secretary, and National Treasurer for the 2017-2019 term. The elections will take place on July 12, 2017, in Indianapolis, Indiana, during the Governing Board meeting.

Let’s keep our chapters active! Chapter secretaries recently received a mailing from FMCA that included a chapter member roster and certification forms. Please assist your chapter secretary in making sure the forms are returned to FMCA by December 31, 2016.

Don’t forget to fill out your ballot for amending the FMCA Articles of Incorporation, located on page 85 in the October issue of FMC magazine and on FMCA.com. The deadline to return the ballot is December 31, 2016.
