What are you doing after the July 2017 Indiana rally in Columbus, IN? Of course, you are go-ing aren’t you? Why not include the FMCA International rally in Indianapolis immediately after the CCI rally?

Then, what are you doing after the FMCA rally in Indy? Why not consider attending the Win-nebago Itasca Travelers (WIT) Club rally in Forrest City, IA I know, that’s a lot of rallies.

Start July 6 – 11 for the CCI rally in Columbus, then July 12 – 15 for the FMCA rally in India-napolis, and July 17 – 22 in Forest City, IA, for the WIT Grand National rally. What else do you have to do in July?

CCI in Columbus - The Columbus rally will feature a visit to the Cummins’ Facility. I am cer-tain we can all learn some useful information about our power trains, even if we have Cat power! We have invited many vendors to participate so it should prove to be a very good ven-ue. Ceraland Campground has mini-golf, a shooting range, swimming pools, and activities that span archery to trap and skeet. If you can’t find some excitement here, you may want to check into the retirement home! Of course, even if no one but the Country Coach owners showed up, it would still be a great time! Register online at:

https://www.countrycoachclub.com/event-2488211 or find a form to mail in the newsletter:https://www.countrycoachclub.com/resources/Pictures/March%202017%20eNews.pdfThe 96th FMCA International Convention will follow the Columbus rally in Indianapolis, In-

diana - a city rich in heritage and teaming with activities for everyone to enjoy. FMCA will have more vendors than you can imagine and they will be sponsoring over 100 sessions dealing with all issues of RV families. I am not going to attempt to laundry list the things that will be at Indy. Suffice to say that if it something to do with your motorhome interests, it will be covered somewhere at the FMCA rally! Register at:

https://www.fmca.com/conventions-64/future-dates.htmlAs we all know by now, Winnebago purchased Country Coach last year. That means we are

now part of the Winnebago family. At the Spring, 2016, CCI rally in St. Louis, the Winnebago Itasca Travelers (WIT) club central area representatives, Pat and Janet Wright, visited with us and invited all Country Coachers to participate in the WIT club. Part of that participation is at-tending the WIT Grand National Rally in Forrest City, IA. This year the rally runs from Monday July 17 to Saturday July 22.

Last year your Senior VP, Bill Sax, and I attended the GNR and presented a short program on Country Coach motor homes. I have to say that everyone I met was glad to see Country Coach-es attending the rally and we were very well received.

You may ask why would I want to go to the GNR or what would I find at GNR that would

  • On The Road Again 7

interest me? First you won’t find much about Country Coaches, we are just too new to the Winnebago family to have any real presence at this time. You will find a whole lot of enthu-siastic RV’ers, lots of vendors, seminars, and craft and hobby classes. There is even a youth program for the kids. Oh, and great entertainment during the day and each evening. And you won’t want to miss the row party held on one of the evenings with food and drink provided by the various chapters and clubs. The row party is like a progressive dinner except bigger and you won’t be able to make it to every club’s table; it is just too large.

WIT has committed to placing the Country Coach rigs in one area of the campground so we will be relatively close to each other. Last year there were four Country Coaches at GNR. It would be great to have more coaches. Plan on attending and let’s get together In Iowa for a good time. You can find more information on the WIT at the GNR website.

We rally/tour Williamsburg, Yorktown, Yorktown Bat-tlefield, and Jamestown this Fall. Don’t miss it!

This is a “Pre Action Calibration*” rally, planned by Hank & Stevie Giffin. The highlight of the joint event will be attending the Air Museum where they restore and fly all their antique airplanes. It is also the week-end when an antique car show is held in a Fair-like setting. “Vintage Cars and Vintage Airplanes” How good does it get?

Immediately following the Pre-Calibration Rally in Virginia Beach is the combined CCI/Nor’Easters/SECC Rally in Wil-liamsburg, VA. rally in the Historic Triangle of Virginia be-

ginning September 26 and ending October 3.

We are planning tours to Williamsburg, Yorktown, Yorktown Battlefield, and Jamestown. There will be time for everyone to have a chance to visit many other attractions the area has to offer.

Hank & Stevie Giffin developed this one as well, so you know how great it will be! Notice that there is limited space so get your reservations in right away.

The information (hyperlinked) was copied from the CCI site. As usual, make reservations directly with the park then go online for registration with Country Coach International at https://www.countrycoachclub.com/page-1553636

    * Pre Action Calibration is a Navy (and NATO) term for warming up your guns before firing for real. In NATO terms it also means a pre-reception social for commanding officers.

CCI Membership News(Member posts from the CCI Face-book page over the last 30 days, see the FB Page for commentary)

Family motor Coach Association (FmCA)6/19As you may have heard, FMCA had been working with Verizon to offer a special rate on an unlimited wireless data plan. After the “soft launch” of this plan to a test group of FMCA members (before the planned launch to all members), Verizon called FMCA and pulled the offering. Verizon officials indicated that they will not be honoring any of the orders that had been entered during this test period. We are still working to see whether FMCA and Verizon can put together an advantageous plan for FMCA members, but at this point we are not certain what will result from discussions with Verizon officials.

Paul Cummings6/16Our RV friends are ok but their coach is not. Are you prepared for this expe-rience at 9:30 am on the road? Check your insurance coverage, how will you get home? No assist unless it’s medical, you are on your own this time without a tow. No need to call Good Sams either.

Linda noel robey6/1FmCA in INDY. I have gotten our entry all straightened out with FMCA. If you have a card that says “Family 30 AMP” you are fine. If you card says something like N. CPGD, I will have a new card for you that says Family. I need you to give me the old card because I have to turn them into FMCA. Entering on Tuesday is fine, early would be good if you can get up to Indy from Columbus. Gates open at 8AM.

Linda noel robey5/30FmCA in INDY. For those who are coming to FMCA after the pre-rally. We are going to meet in the holding area. It is residential around there and rather than try to meet up, it will be better if we can all get together in holding. Put our numbers on, then they will lead us to our spots. Bill Sax I don’t have your direct email. Text it to me when you get a chance. John John S Panzenhagen Paul Cummings Evangeline Ott all have my phone number so we can co-ordinate when you get close. LeeandJeanne Zaborowski5/24Are you thinking about getting wheel covers. Why not make your own? Jeanne and I did. She coached me on the sewing, I did the cutting and sewing. Here’s a picture of the result. We used a common brand of polyester fabric, as used in patio umbrellas (polyes-ter thread too) to minimize UV deterioration. Color fast in the sun, breathes, quickly dries after raining, no heat build-up, Nice to look at. Don’t like red . . . Lots of col-or options. See the CCI July eNews for a how-to guide.

Jimmy Jammz Combs5/19Country Coach alignment and ride height information for the group. Please read carefully!!!!! I received this info this year from the factory. We just had our 03 Intrigue alignment and ride height checked. We used this information sheet for our coach.“Caution” The independent front end and the settings did throw the service tech from his normal procedures. He said his tolerance were tighter than the factory. All went well.“NOTICE”The year, coach production #, dates and updates, model, proper suspension brand, tag axle, etc. Make sure it’s ONLY for your application what you give to servicing tech!I hope this helps everyone to have at their fingertips to make a copy to keep with your coach, make sure it’s the right one...If in question on anything, have your servicing tech call the factory for clarification. Good luck....See CCI Facebook page for all the tables . . .

Country Coach Nor’easters rally at NormandyFarms Campground in Foxboro, mAmay 8 - 12 by donna Hoadley

The Nor’easters enjoyed a week of fun, food, and friends while exploring Newport, RI, Fox-boro and Boston. A visit to Sam Adams brewery with lunch at Doyle’s Pub in South Boston was enjoyed by a group. Doyle’s is one of the oldest pubs in Boston frequented by the Who’s Who in Boston. The furniture is original as well as the old wood telephone booths, clocks and flooring. The walk to the pub will be a memorable experience.

On Wednesday we were bused to New-port, RI, where we boarded a trolley to tour the Town of Newport. Many of the Newport homes are the oldest in the country. They have been restored by the historical society. The summer cottages of the wealthy were the highlight of the trip. We toured the Breakers Mansion (see accompanying photos) , one of the three homes of the Vanderbilt family.

    (continued on next page)

  • On The Road Again 17

Newport was in the shipping and trade business for many years. The largest seaport in the northeast made Newport a wealthy town. They made their money in molas-ses traded for slave in the Caribbean in the 1700s. The local industry is now tourism with its rich history and beautiful homes, wonderful restaurants and freshest seafood.

One wouldn’t visit Foxboro unless you stopped by Gillette Stadium, a beautiful structure with all the conveniences of shopping, medical facilities and restaurants. Some of the club-members visited Salem, Massachusetts, home of the Salem Witches. Others spent time shop-ping at the nearest outlet mall. So many things to do and not enough time.

Thursday was a day of relaxation and a tailgate cookout. As we departed all were looking forward to the next Nor’easter rally.
