Your Beauty Color of Nails Indicates Health By HELEN FOLLETT If a woman is acti*ve, her circu- lation brisk and if hex hands are not abused and neglected, the fin- gernails will bear a fairly deep rosy tint. The nail fabric is-white, with a transparent quality that permits the coloring of the underlying flesh to show through. When nails are blue, there is faulty circulation or one has been subjected to a chill. When they are pale, the body lacks vitality and resistance. Physicians, making a medical ex- amination, frequently take a look at fingernails, for shape and tex- ture as well as color. In some dis- eases they have tales to tell. Shaping of Nails No nail polish can disguise negli- gence. Nails must be properly shaped, cuticle kept in apple-pie order with no sprouty shreds pres- ent—the half moon at the base should be well defined, the nail fabric smooth and perfect. While we have the beauty class lined up for this preachment on feminine talons, we would like to urge them to protect the nails from grime and exposure. Victory gardeners will please take notice. To combat the rough work done by useful and capable hands, they must be kept well lubricated. If they become heavy and coarse, or take on ridges, it is next to impos- sible to get them in beauty form again. ' After Jhe facial creaming at night, give the nails a massage with the emollient. Cause of Brittle Nails It isn't fair to* place the blame on polish if the nails become brit- tle. Cosmeticians have that danger in mind when they compound the rosy glow. Brittle nails may sig- nify a diet deficiency. Individuals who are finicky eaters, who will eat certain foods and no others, do do not get their proper allowances of vitamins and mineral salts that are necessary for body repair and cell building. What one eats has much to do with how one looks, especially the condition of the complexion, hair and finger tips. Laurelton Girf Weds Flier in Texas Chapel The marriage of Elizabeth Nieder- meier to Lieutenant Austin Keane took place in the chapel of the Ellington (Texas) Air Field, it was announced today by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Niedermeier of 225-28 Mentone avenue, Laurel- ton. Your Beauty

Color of Nails Indicates Health

By HELEN FOLLETT If a woman is acti*ve, her circu

lation brisk and if hex hands are not abused and neglected, the fingernails will bear a fairly deep rosy tint. The nail fabric is-white, with a transparent quality that permits the coloring of the underlying flesh to show through.

When nails are blue, there is faulty circulation or one has been subjected to a chill. When they are pale, the body lacks vitality and resistance.

Physicians, making a medical examination, frequently take a look at fingernails, for shape and texture as well as color. In some diseases they have tales to tell.

Shaping of Nails No nail polish can disguise negli

gence. Nails must be properly shaped, cuticle kept in apple-pie order with no sprouty shreds present—the half moon at the base should be well defined, the nail fabric smooth and perfect.

While we have the beauty class lined up for this preachment on feminine talons, we would like to urge them to protect the nails from grime and exposure. Victory gardeners will please take notice.

To combat the rough work done by useful and capable hands, they must be kept well lubricated. If they become heavy and coarse, or take on ridges, it is next to impossible to get them in beauty form again. ' After Jhe facial creaming at night, give the nails a massage with the emollient.

Cause of Brittle Nails It isn't fair to* place the blame

on polish if the nails become brittle. Cosmeticians have that danger in mind when they compound the rosy glow. Brittle nails may signify a diet deficiency. Individuals who are finicky eaters, who will eat certain foods and no others, do do not get their proper allowances of vitamins and mineral salts that are necessary for body repair and cell building.

What one eats has much to do with how one looks, especially the condition of the complexion, hair and finger tips.
