Facts
Okanogan County is the largest geographic county by
area in the State of Washington.
Omak is home to the annual Omak Stampede &
World Famous Suicide Race, which has been held for
over 70 years, always the 2nd weekend in August.
Old West Town of Winthrop has boardwalks & cow-
boy boots, but also fine dining & wine tasting and
great shopping.
Okanogan County is home to the Grand Coulee Dam,
an engineering marvel and the largest hydropower
producer in the U.S.
Bighorn sheep were re-introduced in 1970 and are
now flourishing.
Millions of years ago, Okanogan was a North Ameri-
can coastline.
