October 2018 Monthly Catalogue Welcome to the October 2018 edition of the NHBS Monthly Catalogue, which lists all new titles added to our website in the last month. Several exciting bird books came to our attention this month. The next New Naturalist (after The Burren) will be Gulls, authored by John Coulson, and is due for publication in March from Harper Collins. As every year around October, we can announce the next Birdwatcher's Yearbook, the 2019 edition being due this month from Calluna Books. Springer will publish Lesser Flamingos: Descendants of Phoenix in January. Brill will publish a second edition of Field Guide to the Birds of Suriname in November. Bloomsbury will publish the RSPB Guide to Birdsong March next year, which will include an audio CD. Lastly, Houghton Mifflin will publish Peterson Reference Guide to Sparrows of North America in March. For herpetologists there are two titles in particular worth highlighting. Auckland University Press will publish Reptiles and Amphibians of New Zealand: A Field Guide in November, while Chimaira has just published the long-awaited next installment in their Terralog series: Venomous Snakes of South America. Several exciting bird books came to our attention this month.
