June 2018 Monthly Catalogue Welcome to the June 2018 edition of the NHBS Monthly Catalogue, which lists all new titles added to our website in the last month. This month we can again present you with a varied list of ornithology titles. The University of British Columbia Press will publish the massive Birds of Nunavut 2-volume set in August, which is a first for this area. John Beaufoy will publish A Naturalist's Guide to the Birds of Fraser's Hill (Malaysia) in October, and Jacana will publish Birding in South Africa's National Parks in August. Of more local interest is Shetland Summer Birds and Sutherland Birdlife, both of which are now available. Other than field guides and faunas, we can also offer a new book from Stephen Moss, The Wren: A Short Biography, which is due November from Square Peg. Yale University Press will publish The Empire of the Eagle: An Illustrated Natural History in November, and The Collins Press is publishing To the Ends of the Earth: Ireland's Place in Bird Migration in September. Lastly, we just received stock for the rather magnificent A Bird Guide to the Fields of Experience, Volume 2: East Anglia and Some Rarities 1993-2001: The Private Diaries of Passionate Birdwatcher, which contains sketches and illustrations from the notebooks of the little-known birdwatcher Frank Jarvis. For those with an intterest in mammals we have two forthcoming titles on Bats: Pelagic Publishing's Bat Roosts in Trees: A Guide to Identification and Assessment for Tree-Care and Ecology Professionals, and CSIRO's A Bat's End: The Christmas Island Pipistrelle and Extinction in Australia, both due September. Another CSIRO title is Secret Lives of Carnivorous Marsupials, due August. And then there are two rather splendid photographic books from Scotland: The Red Squirrel: A Future in the Forest and The Lynx and Us, both in stock.
